Just saw the highlight on SportsCenter. He had 48 pts, 12 asts, and 4 steals. Plus game winning three-pointer. Hes carrying that team. Could someone post the vid when it comes on youtube
It was an incredible play. Wade dominated the game scoring and passing. He also hit a 3-pointer with 3 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at 104. Wade/Kobe/LeBron: The top 3 players in the NBA. Sorry, but Chris Paul doesn't belong in that group.
Eye-popping numbers recently for Wade. Just looking at the past 5 games: 38.2 points per game 11.4 assists per game 6.6 rebounds per game 1.2 blocks per game 3.4 steals per game 59.3% FG% (70/118) 58.3% 3p% (14/24)
Wade is absolutely sick. He's my favorite player outside of anyone on the Rockets. Though his team record isn't as good as Kobe or LeBron, I think he should get a fair amount of votes for MVP and even some contention for it.
i saw the score was 127-127 with 11 seconds left and then saw 130-127 on the bottom line during our game and wondered if wade hit it and then i saw wade had gone from 45 to 48 and knew he did. he has just been ridiculous lately (and all season). these last few weeks have been like 2006 finals wade. if lebron wasn't lebron, i'd say wade was the mvp, but i think i'd still have to give it to lebron and put wade 2nd. kobe has had a hell of a regular season and the lakers seemingly win every big game they play, with kobe playing well, but he's not as good as lebron or a healthy wade at this point.
holy crap, just saw the highlight! he stole the ball when chicago had the final possession and then hits a 28 footer or so on the run to win it? i swear no one in the nba for the last 5 years makes more improbably unbelievable plays more consistently throughout a game than wade. like a few years ago when he blocked amare's quarter ending shot into the floor and then picked it up and made a 70 footer. those types of just making something out of nothing plays, specifically plays where he isn't around the ball. and then suddenly he'll make a huge block, or get a steal or grab an offensive rebound and dunk it. it's like his instincts to know when to go make a play and take a chance without getting burned are just incredible.
Dwyane Wade is the closest thing to 80s Michael Jordan since 80s Michael Jordan. LeBron doesn't have his midrange game, and Kobe doesn't play with the same athleticism and relentlessness going to the basket.
It was a great performance, but all the love he's getting right now on ESPN is just sickening. His team is mediocre, and the team they needed 2 OT to beat is mediocre. Neither team will do any damage in the playoffs. The individualism movement of the NBA is ridiculous. And lets say we play Miami tomorrow, and Battier/Artest shut down Wade. You know how much press that would've gotten? Next to nothing. That's pretty much what happened when we stopped LeBron earlier.
The Heat are 5 games over .500. Without Wade, that team doesn't have even 15 wins this year. To me, he's been an MVP-caliber player. It's not about individualism. He makes his team much, much better. There are other players in this league that put up big numbers and do not make their team much better.
