So, my wife and I are starting to get into some TVs shows now. Neither one of us really watched whole lot of TV for a couple of years but we seem have to gotten into watching Lost, House, Heroes, etc. Now, with the Rockets starting up again, which many games would cut into the same nights as the shows, we are feeling a little bit overwhelmed trying to see everything.

So, I thought about a DVR through our DishNetwork service or a Tivo but I don't want to spend the monthly fee to use either one.

That leads me to a DVD Recorder. I figured it would do everyting we would need it to do. Granted we would lose some features but I'd rather that than spending the monthly charge.

Anyway, I'm looking for some suggestions, impressions, etc from those that have DVD Recorders or have dealt with them.

I'm looking to spend between $100-$200.

These are two models that look pretty nice on Circuit City's site.

Thanks for any and all help.
