Foxhome has 50% off the list price of these DVDs with coupon FOXSURVEY.

I just ordered Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season Two set for only $30 + $3.95 shipping (no tax). This is usually $50-$60 elsewhere.

    They also have:

    The X-Files Season 5 $75
    Alien Legacy (all 4) $40
    Simpsons season 2 $25
    Simpsons season 1 $20
    MASH season 1 $20
    Moulin Rouge $15
    From Hell $15
    Joy Ride $14
Die Hard (5 star ed) $13.50
    Fight Club $13.50
    French Connection $13.50
    Sound of Music $13.50
    Cleopatra $13.50
    Planet of the Apes $10
    Men of Honor $10
    Patton $10
    Wall Street $10
    Me Myself & Irene $10
    The Verdict $10
    Butch Cassidy $10
    Entrapment $10
    Dr Dolittle 2 $10
    Full Monty $7.50

You can only use the coupon once per account.

Fatwallet is great. So are anandtech, jumpondeals, and techbargains. DVDPricesearch.com is a good search engine for DVD's and usually has some coupons, too.

Great post outlaw... must get the Simpsons 2nd season. :) I'm ready to increase my DVD count... if I find anything later this week, I'll post my results in here. If any body wants "Space Balls", Wal Mart had it for $9 about 2 weeks ago. :D

If anybody wants both Austin Powers movies, BestBuy.com the 2-pack for $19.99. I'm not sure the B&M has it, but the site does...

Doesn't columbia house have the best deal with their offer of 4 DVD's for $0.49 each and another for $14.95?

Don't get sucked in to Colombia House. You still have to buy 6 more over the next 2 years at 37 times market price plus tax (I wonder if they even remit that to the state). It's NOT a good deal in the long run.

Yeah, the DVD deal probably works out to being the same as buying them in the store, maybe a little cheaper.

The CD club works great though if you know how to do it.

hearing the name Columbia House reminds me of that episode of "Newsradio" where Beth joined CH under hundreds of different names and ended up getting thousands of free cds... she never bought the "additional X at regular price" and an audit man from CH came to the office to nab her... she ends up hiding all the cds in the break room... thousands of them! i can't describe the scene, but trust me it was funny as hell! :D

Actually, it still can be if you pay attention to the average price you pay.

Columbia House runs deals just about each month that offer discounted DVDs after you buy one at the regular price. The regular price is higher than what you can get anywhere else, but if you pay attention and take advantage of the special offers, each order can have a lower price per DVD.

Some of the deals are better than others, but if you pay attention, you can end up with decent Columbia House deals and a relatively low average cost (especially if you include the original shipment in your averaging, which I never did. I only averaged on an order by order basis).

Of course, I'm not a member of Columbia House DVD club, so maybe I'm the wrong person to talk about it (though I was once a member. I finished my requirements and decided to quit).

Do NOT order DVDs from PlayCentric.com

I ordered The Broken Hearts Club DVD on June 29th and they charged my credit card on June 30th before they even shipped the item, which they never did. They gave me the run-around saying there was some delay with shipping so I told them to just cancel the order and refund my card. They still haven't done the refund yet.

Anyone with similarly bad experiences with other online stores?

Well I sort of agree with you. I ordered 6 dvd's last wednesday and I got 5 of them yesterday. The 6th (Air Force One) is backordered and they don't know when they will send it. I haven't tried to get a refund or an alternate selection yet. I probably won't order from them again, although their prices are pretty low on some items and they have good coupons... their customer service through email is crappy.
