I just saw one of the polls nba.com is going to be the best dunks from all star saturday night. There's been some crazy dunks in the last ten years, here's my list of top 10 1. VC's 360 windmill 2. Jason Richardson's reverse between the legs 3. VC bounce between the legs 4. Jason Richardson's between the legs off of backboard 5. Howard's bounce and tap off the backboard 6. Josh Smith windmill over Martin 7. Iggy's bounce behind the back 8. Fred Jones' bounce dunk (i know its a dam fluke but it looked nice) 9. Nash and Amare's dunk (nash did basically everything) 10. tied. Stevie Francis' lob dunk in 2000/Tmac's pump 360 Most overated dunker: Nate robinson..robbed Iggy bigtime, took him 15 tries to do one dunk, pushed off of Dwight's shoulder.. Most overated dunk: superman crap..stupid gimmicks FTL
This would be at the top of my list too. I remember the 2000 Dunk Contest quite vividly. Of course, I was hardcore rooting for Stevie Franchise representing us in the PJ's but VC was clearly better. His 360 windmill has to be one of the most difficult dunks to perform that I can think of. Agreed that Dwight's Superman dunk is overrated. Hell, it wasn't even a real dunk.
as in difficult level mayb, but the 360 windmill has so much more signifigance to it, it brought attention back to the dunk contest, and put VC and Raptors on the map. the VC's dunk looked better than jrich's IMO too
The #9 dunk was overrated to me. I don't think Nate Robinson is the most overrated dunker. Not many people said he was great. Most people agree that Iggy was robbed the year Nate won. I agree with the Superman dunk being the most overrated.
This thread is useless without vids... <object width="640" height="505"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/vVC3yBHjNvo&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/vVC3yBHjNvo&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="505"></embed></object>
Even though this is not in the dunk contest but the 'Dunk Of Death' on Weis was just nasty! I think instead of Dunk of The Decade, how about a Dunker of the Decade? Vince Carter?
Personally, i didn't dig it at all.. for me a good dunk has to look good. that dunk didn't look like anything without the slow-moed replays. Sure he jumped out of the gym with that dunk, it just doesn't look cool. My opinion is kinda biased tho because i was rooting for apollo33 to win. I thought the freethrow line dunk he did was better than the cupcake
and here you go, A video.. APOLLO33 HAS JUST LANDED.. put him back into the dunk constest <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/OUxn6rrgf4A&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/OUxn6rrgf4A&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Yeah, in terms of visuals it wasn't that great, but I always thought to get up that high while getting your timing right to still dunk the ball afterwards was pretty tough to do. He could've looked like an idiot like Nate Robinson after attempt #36, but he nailed it on the first attempt. Maybe it wasn't the greatest dunk, but I still think the degree of difficulty was underrated. If you just want the flat out sickest dunk in a dunk contest, I would have to vote for James White. Yes, it wasn't the NBA's dunk contest, but Jesus - a between the legs dunk from the free throw line? That's video game material.
Yeah.. I replayed that video like a billion times. I also think he is the only one capable of doing that in the world. Not even people from TFB can pull off that dunk. Fricken crazy its really too bad he didn't stick long enough to participate in an NBA dunk contest. He would've brought the house down.
It's the only reason I really wanted the guy to make it on the Rockets. Although I kind of hoped he'd make it since he seemed like a nice guy. I never really saw many of his other dunks, so I don't really know where his creativity ranked.
How in the hell do you not include Igoudola's dunk with the behind the backboard pass from Iverson. If I recall correctly, they did it on the first try and he had to DUCK to keep from hitting the backboard. And it was in Houston for crying out loud!! <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/w6z9-l4hnMM&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/w6z9-l4hnMM&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
you're right.. How da hell did i miss that. replace this one with Iggy's behind the back then.. again proves that nate robbed him big time
