Dukes of Houston...Blues You Can Use....This Weekend!

    Hidey Ho Kiddies....this is your old pal RMT wallowing in shameless self promotion with some blues news you can use from the Dukes of Houston.

    This weekend, we will be playing two shows for your listening, drinking, dancing, and narcotic-ingesting pleasure....

    Saturday September 25th....we will be playing for y'all "way out west" groovesters at Dukes Tavern in Katy Texas. The address is 1010 South Mason Road, Suite C, and their phone number is 281-392-5886. We will be playing from 9PM until 1AM. Dukes Tavern is a crusty little dive bar in a strip mall with pictures of John Wayne all over the walls (who knew there was another Duke??). They mix a stiff cocktail, therefore we had lots of fun last time we were there. Hope to see you way westsiders at Dukes Tavern this Saturday night!

    Sunday September 26th....we will be playing a waaaay cool place down in Pearland called Zydeco Kitchen. Their address is 1300 Broadway Street (FM 518) in Pearland and their phone number is 281-648-6500. We will be performing a sunset/dinnertime show from 4:30 PM until 7:30 PM. Zydeco Kitchen serves some of the best Cajun food in the Houston area, and they have a neat little patio/bar area where we will be crankin' out the blues. C'mon down for dinner and drinks on Sunday at Zydeco Kitchen with the Dukes!

    Great! I hope to catch one of those shows. I thoroughly enjoyed the first time I caught y'all and I'm looking forward to a second helping of the blues.

    Coolness. Hope to see you! If you haven't eaten at Zydeco Kitchen, you should check it out. Some of the best Cajun food in the Houston area. It is frigging awesome.

    It was fun, and they make a mean old-timey hamburger. Their burger rivals Lankford Grocery. The owners are very nice and the atmosphere is great. We will be there again on Friday November 5th!

    Thousands it would appear. This is pretty cool, Jeff playing on Thursday and Friday, and RMT on Saturday and Sunday. And next week, Ruthie Foster will be playing some time at the Houston Women's Festival. Hopefully, by then I will have summoned enough courage to overcome my fear of all that estrogen.:D

    Tex, I'll try & make it out to the Sunday show.

    A buddy of mine recommended the Alan Haynes show at the Big Easy on Saturday. I've never heard his tunes, whatcha think about him?

    I know - she was outstanding at the Duck back in March.

    And I just learned that Modulator will be at Fat Cat's on this Saturday with Arthur Yoria and another band which escapes me. So I may catch y'all on Sunday. And if that weren't enough, I believe that this is the weekend for the Seabrook Jazz Festival.
