Man, I'll agree with most people that the Dukies usually get their share of questionable calls. Not as bad as some think, but more than their share...

But against Indiana tonight, they're getting *A LOT* of bad calls against them. If there's any doubt, it's going to Indiana! Two of Dunleavy's fouls and one of Boozers seemed almost purely fictitious from here. Williams got clearly fouled on a 3 pointer, that didn't get called. And even the announcers were shocked that Indiana just got an out of bounds call instead of it being a foul on Indiana.

With Dunleavy having 4 fouls, this is really affecting the game. I can't believe I'm saying this... but the referrees need to be more fair to DUke.

And with 11 seconds left, Duke makes a clean steal. Even the announcers thought this. Foul called, Indiana makes both free throws.

If Duke loses this one, you can chalk it up to terrible officiating.

EDIT: And you can. And then boozer was fouled on the offensive rebound of Williams miss.

This was a disgrace for officiating.

Duke had their chance at the end, though. If they'd have made the freethrow they'd have had a chance. Nobody but themselves to blame.

I'll chalk it up to Duke not holding a huge lead and to them playing down to a much less talented Indiana team.

Have you guys ever seen such a Effed up Elite 8? Pitt Indiana, or Kent State are going to the Final 4. Wow, When Jason hit that Three and the foul I almost couldnt belive it, then Boozer missed the putback.
    Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Please! there were plenty of questionable call that went both ways. The last boozer shot would have been a ticky-tack call and you just can't end the game like that.

Yeah, there were plenty of bad calls, but what are you going to do. Usually the refs just don't make calls in the last minute of a game even when there is contact, much less a clean steal like Duhon's. That was the call that really made the game. But all Jwill had to do was make his free throw to send it to overtime,
    so...they still had their chance.

(One more thing, was it just me or did I see Boozer actually get b****-slapped across the face when he went up on that rebound. My eyes must have been playing tricks on me, because no call was made.)

Why is it beautiful that Duke lost?

And how is Duke overrated? Its college basketball dude. In case you didn't know, it called an upset. It happens quite often.

Williams sure has left his legacy in college basketball. Missing a foul shot to send his team home, when they were heavy favorites. The Duke players on the bench were going nuts at the refs when they were leaving. The one white scrub that went nuts looked like his head was going to explode.

Stay with me on this one.

Try to imagine that there is a college/professional basketball (or any other sport for that matter) that you REALLY didn't like and were VERY tired of hearing about. Now, imagine that this team is playing a team that is much less talented, and that this hated team is favored to win. Your hated team gets out to an early lead, and everyone writes off the game as a win (including you). Then, later on, you find out that the game is very close, and that the underdog team somehow manages to get a lead towards the end. But, through a questionable foul call, the hated team is given a chance to tie the game and win in overtime. But, dramatically, the star player on this team (and coincidentally one that you feel is overrated) MISSES the free throw. The crowd rejoices, you dance around shouting and celebrating.

That is why it was beautiful, and if you can't imagine a scenario in which a person would find it beautiful, then I pity you.

    DcKid,

It was beautiful because the media sucks Duke's jock like no other. That team was not God like a ton of experts and other people thought.

As far as being overrated, they lost to a MEDIOCRE Indiana team, and almost got burned by an even worse ND team in the 2nd round. All world teams don't play like this two games in a row, understand? Duke was a good team amongst a number of good teams. But, any team praised as much as Duke deserves to be called overrated if they can't dispose of the easiest bracket in the whole tournament. They didn't even have to face their potential big road block in USC and still got knocked out in the sweet 16, by a mediocre IU team and should've lost a week ago to ND.

That is not an all world team in my opinion, now is it? I understand having bad games but considering Duke is all world remember why should they get cut any slack for losing in the Sweet 16 in the easiest bracket in the tourney not even having to face their biggest challenge in USC and playing two back to back pathetic games against MEDIOCRE IU and ND teams.

That is not Greatness, my friend, and thus this loss is very sweet. Can you say fraud?
