Read all about it here! I can't wait for the 10th. Could be a huge day in Texas sports with basketball team taking on #1 Duke and Vince Young in New York hopefully accepting the Heisman.
Grandmas and Grandmamas only sign with UNLV. Duke is a recruiting machine. Atleast in NCB, teams rarely go undefeated so their will be some movement in top spot.
I don't think so. It could definitely be a magical year though. 2005 CWS 2005 BCS Champ? 2005 Heisman Trophy? 2006 Final Four?
Duke is a monster. With JJ Reddick and Shelden Williams -- that alone should warrant the top spot. They play UT this year? That should be a really good game. UNC unranked should be expected, they lost EVERYONE.
I have a lot of respect for Duke and how they compete with all the generic state universities in basketball. Duke's academic rigor is top notch.
Yeah, Duke has a really good team this year, but then again, they always have a good team. Reddick and Shelden should have monster years. I think we play Duke in December in N.J. That will be a very intense game, hopefully the Horns will come out on top. Gibson-Paulino-Tucker-Aldridge-Buckman is just about the best lineup we've seen in a while. Gibson and Paulino are excellent shooters, Tucke-Aldridge-Buckman should dominate the paint night in-night out.
I think that the Texas-Duke game (at MSG, right?) has got to be the biggest non-conference game this year, possibly in recent memory. If I recall correctly, I can't think of when #1 and #2 have played each other durring the year. By the way, those of you complaining that Duke is always ranked #1, this is not true. They have not been the preseson #1 since Battier's senior year (correct me if I'm wrong gucci). They have been in the preseason top 10 all that time, and at somepoint have been ranked #1 in the season. They are a good program, that's what happens when you run a good program. Sorry your team has not had as much success.
I'm not sure, I am a UT student and we've never been ranked this high before (preseason). I think we ranked #1 once when TJ was here, but other than that, this is by far our most talented group.
this is a year i actually agree with duke being #1, they are very deep and i believe shelden williams is the best big man in the country. he's unbelievable, i was hoping he would enter last year's draft and slide to the rockets, that would have been perfect for houston. texas is a solid #2. backcourt depth is the only issue, and if pj tucker can stay eligible. they should be headed back to another final 4.
another big game I'm looking forward too (all though, I'm sure none of you care) is Duke/Indiana.....I think that is the "marquee" Big 10/ACC challange game this year (which the ACC has DOMINATED every years since it's inception). I think Indiana could be a sleeper team in the Big 10. In fact, I think they will be the best team behind Michigan St (who scares me to death--do NOT want to play them at all). They had a decent class last year, have a good one this year, and some talent coming in from transefer (ala Auburn). Should be interesting.
I don't know why you Dookies would be scared of anyone . You guys have everyone coming back, except for Randolph, whose an addition by subtraction. Didn't you have the top recruiting class this year too? With UNC #2? I'd be shocked if Duke didn't win it all this year..
our team is filled with Freshman and Seniors: Dockery, Melchoni, Reddick, Williams lead the way. Nelson looks to have a good sophmore year, since his slump was in his Freshman year (either that, or he is WAY overhyped). Palus looks to be the point of the future (play making ability is fabulous comprared to Dockery, but Dock D's it up, not really Palus's forte). Big Kid in the middle (whose name excapes me, he's from Indy) will be better than Randolf, that's been preached already at camp. They also have some Euro who will be solid for some spot time. I'm excited, and confidet that they will win it all. But it's not like I look forward to playing a tough team. I want to win, and I'd rather play Mt. St. Vinny's than Michigan St or Texas any day of the week.
