DUI suspect runs over bystander...caught on tape

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A driver videotaped running over a pedestrian after a car crash in South Los Angeles has been arrested for investigation of driving under the influence.

Police say Duane Leon Porter was taken into custody last night and booked.

Clarence Taylor, who videotaped the scene, said he was outside around 6:20 last night when a 2004 Chevy Malibu rammed another car from behind.

The Malibu then lurched onto a sidewalk, running over Tiwan Barton. Barton was dragged across a lawn before the rear wheels rolled over him. The car then crashed into the porch of a house before turning back toward the street and coming to a stop.

Police say, amazingly, Barton suffered only cuts and bruises and was released after treatment.
