And UPS!!! I ordered a new pc for my home and called to check on the status of my shipment because it was shipped before Thanksgiving and found it was delivered by UPS last Friday! Signed by a person I dont even know and doesnt live at my address. Well I called UPS and they sent me back to Dell's 'Customer Service' and a guy named Ronnie answered. Well Ronnie, whom I can barely understand, tells me that they are going to ship another one with the exact same specs out to me. He was unable to give me a new order # because the system allegedly was down. The b*stard told me he would call back and he didnt. And now Im on the phone trying to get my freakin pc! Oh and the money has already been paid from my account! I wish there was someone I could call and complain to but I keep getting people with heavy accents!
that does totally suck. I've had problems with the quality of Dell technical support, but in the end, they've always come through.
I would say something here about another computer company but it isn't helpful and will probably piss you off, so I'll restrain myself.
Not for me they didn't. I bought a $6500 lemon from them years ago and they ssssssssssssuuuuuuuuuuuucked. Had about 4 serious issues that I had to identify myself. I paid extra for the fast-response warranty, they missed the window, and wanted to make amend by adding some crappy warranty at the end of the warranty term.
Exactly, This is not Dell's problem but UPS's problem, unless Dell delivered to the wrong address. DD
Dell is one of many brand-names of items that I refuse to buy. I have been very happy with the HP Pavilion I bought nearly two years ago. It had a modem problem that was easily fixed with a newer version of the modem driver, and that's the only problem I've ever had since I bought it.
Thats what I asked and they said because Im a Dell customer, I have to talk with Dell customer support. I told them that Dell didnt deliver it and they said that Dell handles 'incidents' like this and they will settle it with them.
Dell usually takes care of it and then deals with the problem with UPS so the customer isn't screwed.
Freaky, I was just about to post a thread about receiving a free Dell. UPS showed up and asked me to sign for it. Man this machine rocks. Best thing is I didn't have to pay for it.
Funny thing is I didnt have to pay for the shipping either. and I was supposed to get a free printer and free upgraded 17" flat screen. NOTHING!
Sorry to hear that. I just received mine via UPS yesterday. Luckily, they deliverd at 6:30 in the evening, when I was home. I hope everything works out.
I just got off of the phone and they are sending another. I have an order # now....no thanks to 'Ronnie'. I will have to wait another 5-7 days. This is my second pc from them, one for the business and one for home. I made them add a Signature only by my wife or myself....ID required.
I just got a Dell for my daughter and it came quickly, was cheap, and got the free upgrade to a flat screen. Its the third Dell I've bought and I've never had any problems with the machines or the support.
I honestly hate Dell. The orders are always delayed. Three orders and three delays. Now I have started buying the thinkpads from IBM ibm instead simply because of the crappy dell service. One time they completely lost an order I had a confirmation for. Ridiculous.
I ordered a PDA (Handspring Visor that I never use) once. I can't remember if it was UPS or FedEx but they just left it sitting by my door at my apartment complex at the time. It really pissed me off because it would have been easy for someone to pick it up without breaking stride.
Probably fedex, they did the same thing to me. I bought some textbooks for school that totaled about $350 and they left it sitting on my porch. Now, I know its not an apartment complex, but the theory still stands. If no one is home, then come back later.
