Has anyone taken note of what DuckDuckGo is saying about Google?
Claims are that Google tracks you and modifys search results tailored to you even when signed out and in private mode.

What are your thoughts on this? Any concern?

Why is this bad news? I'd rather have search results tailored to me. I also don't care that google sells my info to advertisers. Facebook does the same thing. What is the harm in having advertisers know about my habits?

THEY WILL TRACE YOUR DNA BASED ON YOUR HABITS AND CREATE A CLONE TO KILL AND REPLACE YOU.

You know browsers send the referral URL? That has been done forever. You visit a website it gets your ip adress which you can figure out a persons location from. You could also theoretically ping an ip address from multiple known locations and actually get a persons physical location by going through the trace route and figuring how long a signal takes to get from point a to b.

I believe the term for that is BACK-TRACING.

As long as they can figure out to weed out the "pay" pr0n sites, then I'm all for mod'ing my results. Duh. It's called efficiency.

that duckduckgo search engine kinda sucks. whenever i click the 'back' button after going to a website none of the search results show up... which means i have to click search again.
    only happens in chrome though.

I use duckduckgo and love it. I prefer not to have data about myself stored without my consent. This became a problem for me when I ordered one Dominoes pizza using Google Chrome and from then on Google tempted me with Dominoes advertisements at every site I visited. I put on weight.

Google took the lead/won/wins because it offers the best search product in existence. Competitors can either differentiate and snag a tiny, pee-pee sized portion of searchers or resort to playing pee-pee games like crying about how Google tracks you.

Either deliver the most relevant search results possible or cry in a corner and beg for attention like a Green Party candidate. No pee-pee games. Only good products.
