My DSL is acting really funny lately. Its been slower than a dial-up. I disconnected it for 5 minutes and it started working fine, but a couple of minutes later it started being slow again.

    Anyone have any advice?
    Thanks

Turn off your modem and leave it off for a few minutes. If that doesn't help contact your isp to see if there are any known problems in the area. hope that helps.

Go to DSL Reports and go to "Tools" section. In there, try to do a tweak test. Most of the time, that works.

Not to scare you, but have you checked to make sure you have a virus/worm/zombie/(insert your bug here)?

What you are describing is consistent with another program using your internet connection. (It could start after the connnection is established, and force you to share your connection.) Check to see what applications are running when this happens. You might also run a virus check, and possibly install a firewall (even a free one) that will block unwanted applications.
