If they are going to keep the percussion set for the Rockets introduction, I hope they get rid of the guy with long curly hair. God damn he's so annoying.....
LOL!! I don't know why, but that was just plain funny! But yeah, I didn't like them either...I went to the first home game last year and thought it was just season-opening festivities, but then I went to a couple more and it got old. That was probably just a marketing ploy to try and give the fans a more memorable experience and get them into the game some more. Now there's little-to-no reason to have to do all that, what with the uni's, all the NatTv games (although they are during the week, I know), a brand new arena, and above all else, a winning team. Shouldn't be necessary, right Tim?
This is what the offseason has boiled down to: Talking about placing one of the drummers on waivers for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release. I think he still has some value. We should trade him and drummer to be named later (maybe Imadrummer_2K) for Ezra Charles and The Works. We might have to thrown in the Chicago Drew obligation (they key to every deal proposed on here ) to make it work though.
I got a lot of posts and I think they're all annoying. Drumming accomplishments aside, I don't think what they do works at a basketball game overall. I do like the impact on the upper levels, but I think they can take that energy and find something that works a little bit better for the arena as a whole.
I think we should get rid of the drummers. Yeah were cool for a while, and they did help in giving out freebies during the game, but I'll always be a fan of the "rockets liftoff" with that techno song. I think the name was "Capella" or something like that. That intro always got me hyped at Rox games.
A lot of people think they suck and that's fine..I was more commenting on bulletin board etiquette about ripping something or someone with a new thread before your feet are wet and people know who you are.
I like them at the player introductions. At least they're unique. Every other team in the league has some 'techno' theme for their opening. It's played out. I will say that after they do their thing for the introductions, they need to put the drums down, and slowly back away. They can be ultra annoying during the game. TRADE REJECTED Actually, Ezra used to play at the games. It was pretty cool, but I've said it before and I'll say it again.... Play SRV's "The House is A'Rockin" before the tipoff and/or after a run by the Rockets.
Is the drummer's first name Giovanni? Just curious...I used to play in a fusion band with a drummer named Giovanni. In fact, that band contained a future member of Ezra Charles's band...small world.
"I was more commenting on bulletin board etiquette about ripping something or someone with a new thread before your feet are wet and people know who you are." some of you guys are so damn obsessed with the "bulletin board etiquette". It's like you're just sitting there waiting to pounce on someone who uses the wrong forum or posts a thread that's been done before. Some people don't sit and stare at this thing 24 hours a day and don't know - or care - that there's some other thread out there from days or weeks ago. Why do you care anyhow? You're obviously not doing anything but sitting and reading these things anyhow. Is it that big of an inconvenience for you? Is it that big a source of pride for you to be master of the bulletin board - possessing unsurpassed knowledge of all the threads and forums - which ones were posted "in error" and which ones were not - which ones were posted by more experienced rather than less experienced. Why don't you just read the comments and post your replies? Nobody cares about your obsession with being the all important monitor of billboard etiquette.
I wasn't directing that at Chance specifically or that specific post - just that he mentioned "billboard etiquette" and that triggered that in my mind. There's a lot of billboard monitors out there that are just as annoying as people who don't post correctly. I shoulda put it in a seperate thread just to pee some people off
Does anyone know the cap implications if we release the Drummer outright? Was his contract gauranteed? And if we trade him, is he a BYC drummer, and thus we will only be able to get a one-armed drummer in trade? These are the reasons that CD gets paid the big bucks.....
