Marbury test shows higher blood-alcohol level, police say February 20, 2002 PHOENIX (AP) -- Phoenix Suns guard Stephon Marbury had a higher blood-alcohol content than initially reported following his recent DUI arrest, according to police. A blood test taken the night Marbury was arrested indicated the basketball star had a blood-alcohol content of 0.18, Scottsdale police Sgt. Doug Dirren said. The initial test, measured with a hand-held breath tester, indicated his blood-alcohol content was 0.153, the police said. The state's legal limit is 0.08. Marbury was arrested on Feb. 8 and booked on charges of extreme driving under the influence, driving under the influence and speeding. Police said Marbury had been weaving his Bentley convertible about 1:30 a.m. MST at 25 miles mph over the speed limit. Extreme DUI, a charge that can be used when a person has a blood alcohol level of at least 0.15, carries harsher penalties than a regular DUI.
