I'm at work listening to Tony Bruno (FOX Sports) and he said that in a Washington Post article Dream states that he wouldn't mind playing Jordan and the Wheeeeezards. I'll go find the article. Rob ------------------ Producer at SportsRadio 1340 KKAM- Lubbock visit me online at www.robertsnyder.net
I've heard that; don't know how true. This was a big rumor about a month ago. Brent Barry told my brother-in-law that many inside the Rockets organization think it could be a real possibility. I don't see why not: the Golden Oldies Tour 01-02. ------------------
I found some information in this link(from ESPN.com) http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2001/0608/1211243.html ___________ How about Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley and Hakeem Olajuwon all on the same NBA team? Olajuwon, who was named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history in 1997, told the Washington Post on Thursday that he would also be interested in joining Jordan next season if the former Bulls star decides to make a comeback with the Wizards. Olajuwon, who has played for the Houston Rockets his entire career, is a free agent. "I'd certainly like to play with him. Who wouldn't?" Olajuwon said during a telephone interview with the Post. "It's intriguing. I know there's a lot of reports saying that Michael is coming back, but I'm not sure what's going to happen." Jordan, who led the Bulls to six titles before retiring in 1999, has said he is "99.9 percent" sure he won't play again. However, Barkley has been working out with Jordan and said they are considering a comeback together. Barkley said they would announce their decision in July. ------------------
well I'd have to root against him ------------------ Shane "Save Our Rockets" "Life without basketball in Houston........without an arena that is what it will be"
Brent Barry told my brother-in-law that many inside the Rockets organization think it could be a real possibility. So Barry was that Western Conference shooting guard that said Webber was going to New York eh? I hope you don't mind me asking, but I assume brent had some bad news on C-webb a couple months ago ? ------------------ "norm, would you like to buy an indian scalp ? This deal isn't gonna make or break me Norm, so don't jerk me around." Harry Carey "Norm, if I had a mohawk scalp, I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you."

Brent Barry told my brother-in-law two months ago that he thinks Webber will head East, either to NY or Miami, and won't come to Houston. That was then. Obviously brother Jon has changed his mind a bit since then; Jon thinks Webber will stay, or he SAYS he thinks Webber will stay. (Obviously Brent got info from Jon.) At first I was dismayed. Then I thought, wait. Don't freak out. Just because someone is led to believe something doesn't mean it's true. I mean, Miami?? Half-court, no running game. Come on, now. Webber might have told his teammates that he would go East and thus get someone in return for the team, because obviously he doesn't want to disappoint or anger teammates, friends, and family. Or he told this to the Maloofs who passed it along to Kings players. The Maloofs could look into all sorts of trade scenarios if they want. If Webb wants to be here, he'll come here. I posted in another thread quotes from Slam and Inside Stuff that Webb wants to be in a West-Coast style running offense. He also considers his next contract important not just for the short-term but for the long-term, i.e., four, five years from now (long-term gratification rather than short-term). He also expects people will criticize his decision but he has to do what he wants, not what others expect of him. He started to backpedal a little when he realized he might be giving something away, but I believe Houston is pretty high on the list. ------------------
What the hell? Are the Wizards going to be playing the Old Timers game at the All-Star break? Why don't they sign Kevin McHale and Larry Bird as well? This will be amusing watching these old fogies bumbling around. Do it, Dream! <font size="+4" color="blue">DO IT!</font> Sorry for that mistake on the font tag. I don't get my updates right away because of the proxy server issue . I dare you to. Maybe they will pay you 15 million dollars and put a DVD/TV combo in your locker. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Surfguy (edited June 08, 2001).]
ummm, Surfguy, you have a missing quotation mark in your font tag. And to think I get accussed of using root server passwords to do this type of stuff.
If I remember correctly....Houston is 'east' of Sacramento!! ------------------ Wait, there is another...
West Coast "style" of play. Fast break, upcourt, move move move. But, of course, the indicates you know this...or do you know something else, Doc? Tell. Don't tease. ------------------
The Suns are obviously one of the teams he is describing. They would be more of a "suprise" than the Rockets. I don't know, just my take. With Marion, Kidd, Penny (if he ever comes back) and Webber, they'd be a very fun team to watch. ------------------
Allow me to reemphasize Doc's cryptic comment since they have appeared to fall on deaf ears.....all reports I've ever heard said that Webber wanted to play in the East.
Hmm. Who to believe - Brent Barry and his upfront statement, or Doc and his enigmas, wrapped in a riddle? ------------------ Bingbong was set up, led to an untimely death in the prime of his life for no other reason than pure malice. After I see a Doc Rocket post, I get too excited NOT to post. However, I really don't have anything to say. I imagine the interpretation thereof is heypartner's...so thank you Doc. Whether you meant anything or not, you just have to post on here every few weeks to keep me interested. ------------------ Jazzkiller
The Wiz have a little over $13M in cap room and if they use the #1 pick that drops the cap room to about $10M. If the Wiz keep the pick, anyone want to venture a guess how the 3 amigos handle the split of the 10M? Seems to me Dream would be no better off moneywise than taking the Rockets offer. I'm trying to imagine how many touches Dream gets with Charles, Griffin, & Mike. Seems like an interesting experiment. Then again, so was Prohibition. ------------------ Raef to Rocks in '01-'02! I think they would pick Battier with the 1st pick and all they would need would be a PG. I wouldn't be surprised to see Dennis Rodman back if Jordan came back. I always wanted to see the Bulls vs. Rockets in the finals. As we all know it never happened so now I would love to see Dream play with Jordan. ------------------
Just move Richard Hamilton to point guard and you have a pretty damn good starting 5. ------------------
Here's the fun part. The NBA has to make their decisions about games to broadcast before the players have to decide where they're going and what they're doing. It would be hilarious if the Wizards were on TV every week like the Lakers are now, but Hakeem stays in Houston, MJ doesn't come back, and Barkley doesn't join him. It would be fun to watch the confusion as the networks scramble to re-schedule and get Shaq back on! The Rocket Guy http://www.TheRocketGuy.com ------------------
