DID ANYONE CHECK OUT THE ONLINE SURVEY ON CNNSI.COM LAST WEEK? THE QUESTION WAS "WHO IS THE BEST BIG MAN EVER?". THE CHOICES: GEORGE MIKAN, BILL RUSSELL, WILT CHAMBERLAIN, KAREEM, & SHAQ O'SUCK. I THOUGHT MY EYES WERE FAILING ME, BUT THERE WAS A NOTICEABLY ABSENT 6TH CHOICE. NO DREAM? THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! LET THOSE STIFFS KNOW HOW YOU FEEL! THESE CHUMPS COULDN'T EVEN CARRY DREAM'S JOCK! #34, THE BEST EVER!

That is BS, but what do you expect from the media. Hakeem is if not the best big man ever he's the second best, but nothing lower than that. As far as suckuille o'neal, he is no where near those guys, at least not Dream and even he knows that. If it weren't for his size he wouldn't be $h!t.

To me the only two centers that you can argue being the best center ever is Dream and Kareem!!!

Wilt was great but way ahead of his time.

Russell was a great defensive threat but could he do the same thing in todays NBA at 6'9"?I dont think he would even be considered a center!

Mikan(well he was the man of his ERA but come on Collier would kick his @ss now!!!

    centers by decades

    1960's

    bill russell

    1970's

    wilt chamberlain

    1980's

    kareem abdul jabbar

    1990's

    hakeem olajuwon

    2000-???

    shaquille o'neal

i would have to say that hakeem had the toughest matchups out of all of them with
ewing, robinson, mutumbo, and shaq. no one else had that much competition at their positions, except for bill vs. wilt.

That poll is a joke, coming from uneducated morons. Don't worry about those idiots. They have nothing to contribute to sports media.

Hell, Bill Russel and Wilt Chamberlin have both proclaimed that Hakeem is not only one of the top big man but one of the five greatest players to ever play the game. Now, that is real recognition. Screw Cnn!
