T-Mac returns to his former self, and helps lead the team to the playoffs. Having done all of that, he would be waiting for that last big contract. Quite possibly, he doesn't get that contract that he is looking for, and has to settle for a 1 yr deal (with the Rockets) like Iverson, because teams won't have alot of money to spend on him, since they will be focusing on LeBron and company. So, he waits until the free agent class after, where he could possibly score a bigger contract. In the meantime, he resigns for 1 yr, 6 million, Morey somehow frees up money for Bosh, and Yao gets healthy. Then you have a lineup of: Brooks/Lowry McGrady/Taylor Battier/Ariza Bosh/Scola/Landry/Pops Yao/Anderson
My Dream Scenario: We stick with the exact team we have now, and everyone steps up to the point that WE WIN THE NBA TITLE!!! Then the Rocket's finally get media attention with no allstars and every star wants to come here. Dream's aren't always realistic. hehe, But I'd love that scenario.
That looks almost financially impossible. Don't forget that we have to resign Scola and Battier. Scola definitely for more money. We can probably retain Battier for the same.
I would say Battier makes a little more than the average for perimeter defenders, only posey makes what he makes, and that´s because NO GM was out of his mind giving him the full MLE. We should be able to retain him for around 5 millions
Dream Scenario would be McGrady announcing he is going to retire from BBall and asks for a 10 million buyout, that way his 23 million expiring contract becomes a very tradeable asset.
And your "Dream Scenario" has Tracy staying aboard for not only this season but another season as well? "My dream" is the team we currently have fights hard. Scola, Brooks, Trevor and Battier takes the reigns of this club and turn the corner to become keystone figures within the Rockets Organization. Tracy makes a come back long enough to receive a fairly high value in a trade, to strengthen this team in time for the playoffs and Yao's return. If we could just use Tracy for a bargaining chip to bring us someone who has age and potential on their side, one who could spread the floor and get to the basket. Someone that we could feel good about hanging our hat and future on for the next 5 years. But IMO the Tracy boat has sailed. Tracy for another contract signing would be my nightmare.
- Tank - Get a high draft pick (#8 should do the trick) - Trade the pick for Ryan Bowen Now that's a dream scenario.
Biran Cook bursts out and wins MIP award, averaging 30ppg and 24rpg on .700 from the ft line and leads us to the championship with a last second game winning 3 pt shot.
Doing that, I will give him the season MVP and finals MVP. For me Dream Senario is rox trade Yao and Tmac for another 2 all-stars.
My dream scenario is that Yao avoids any serious physical activity for the next 12 months and enters the 2010 training camp refreshed, healthy, and eager to win a championship. Of course, he'll have plenty of new teammates to meet, including the Rockets new rookie, number one pick John Wall, but they quickly become friends and Wall vows to imitate Yao's work ethic, professionalism, and easy going nature.
If McGrady even plays at 75%-80% of his former self, he'll get a payday. Not everyone can get LeBron or DWade, so someone's going to end up blowing some salary on a second-tier star like McGrady would be if he could rebound suitably. Point if, if McGrady makes a comeback, he won't come cheap. Keep in he's three years younger than Iverson.
i really dont think that lineup to go anywhere because tmac never has and never will be able to play with yao. yao limits what tracy can do and forces tmac to shoot tough jumpers because of a clogged lane. right now the rockets are moving towards a quicker and more uptempo type of basketball which shouldnt include yao. the dream dream scenario does not need to include yao.
