did it bother you guys that no one gave hakeem the ball over there? i got family there and they didnt have nba when dream was dream and his nickname up there was the "black mummy" cuz if all his pads. it also bugged me to hear dream called the biggest mistake in raptor history... i felt he played good at the end of 2001 when they started to feed him the ball more.i thought steve-dream and the cat was a good trio there and had they gave him the ball more, we would of gone to the playoffs that year.
i think the thing that bothered us the most was him even deciding to play there. it was perfect for him to end his ENTIRE career in the NBA with the rockets IN houston! oh well
Uh, what the hell does that have to do with anything? I'm assuming he's asking that because like another player, Mutumbo, we don't have any "official" records of his birth. Pretty much everyone knows that Mutumbo is lying about how old he is. Olajuwon's play deteriorated at such a rapid rate that would suggest his body was older than originally thought. Personally, I think he's as old as he says he is. It's not that he started falling apart sooner than most basketball players, it's just that he fell apart completely when he started to lose it. Hakeem didn't take as good of care of himself as he could have.
well yes thats what i was implying. just because of Dikembe's unofficial birth records, are you making the connection that its the same case for Hakeem
The fact of tha matter is when the Dream signed with toronto he was allready washed up and needed to retier but he didnt think so and was proven wrong becuase he suked, he just made a mistake by signing with tha raptores when he did .. oo well hes legacy will allwayz go on
adeelsiddiqui Who do ignorant people you keep opening your mouth ..... or keyboard? Stick to what you know please even though you meant well.
Mistakes by Toronto 1. McGrady leaving as a FA 2. Drafting Camby #2 over Marbury, Ray Allen, Walker, Kobe, Pedja, ... 3. Drafting Redojevic #12 over Maggette, Artest, Posey, Kirilenko 4. Trading for Olajuwon All these moves either could not have been prevented or maid sense at the time. While Olajuwon contributed next to nothing to the team on the court, having Olajuwon on your team as a selling point is a lot better than having Redojevic on the roster. Anybody ever heard of this guy or know that he was a lottery pick in 1999?
YaoWink, McGrady was out of Toronto no matter what; the Raptors indeed offered him the max, but he turned it down. He wanted to go to Orlando. Draft blunders are done by every team; and to say the least, the Raptors actually have been very succesful in the few drafts they hvae attended. Trading for Olajuwon seemed like a genius move at the time; the injuries he suffered were not forseen. The Raptors were lacking a true centre, and a player like Dream was looked to as the final piece of the ECF's puzzle. When the trade occured, the Raptors all of a sudden were considered as a potential candidate for the Eastern Conference Finals; this was said by many basketball analysts.
