Eddy Curry believes things will be different for the Bulls next season, and Curry is perceptive enough to know the mostly likely difference will be a major roster shakeup.

Chandler may be the most likely to go. He didn't play Thursday, which was his first healthy scratch of the season.

If this is accurate then I would love to see the Rockets get in on this if at all possible. I really think Tyson is going to be a stud in the future. He showed a lot of major flashes earlier this year before he got hurt.

Just dream casting hear but I would love to see the following trade:

    Steve Francis

    For

    Kirk Hinrich
    Tyson Chandler
Scottie Pippen (strictly for salary cap reasons to make it work)

IMO, Francis has always wanted to be a Bull and follow in MJ’s footsteps there. He made it very clear that he wanted to be drafted number 1 by them in his rookie year.

Hinrich is JVG’s type of PG in my oppinion and if the team is unhappy with Chandler then I would maybe we could get him in the deal as well.

    Kirk Hinrich 23 years old
    Cat
    JJ
    Chandler 7’1” 21 years old
Yao Ming 7’5” 23 years old

Plus we don’t give up any of our supporting cast: Cato, MoT, Pike, Boki etc…

Trust me, Scottie Pippen will NOT be in a Rockets uni next year. Houston is the last place he would go.

The only way Scottie Pippen would be involved in the trade if he was getting cut as soon as we got him. He would get booed unmercifully if he came back here.

Otherwise, Hinrich and Chandler for Francis works for me.

Let me try to understand this. WE MAKE THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR, then we get younger!

STEVE is getting it. The guy has come a long way this year. I seriously can't remember thel ast time he took a bad shot. He is now a point guard. He will get better at running the team from now on. WATCH OUT FOR THE ROCKETS.

Pippen would be for salery cap purposes only. I don't think Pippen will actually play in the NBA anywhere next year and yes we cut him right away.

If all the rumors about Steve getting shipped off in the off season are true then I would love to see this trade. Steve would be the only subtraction in this scenario and personally I don't think Steve will ever be the kind of point guard that can take us to a championship.

How far has Francis come in just one season? He has improved tremendously. The guy is getting there. He IS a floor general now; he just has to find his shot. He is thinking the right way now. He didn't want to change before (which was the major obstacle). Now, it just has to become more natural and that comes with more practice.

IT WOULD BE A MISTAKE TO TRADE FRANCIS AT THIS POINT. HE IS ALMOST THERE!

Can someone please explain the fascination with Eddy Curry/Tyson Chandler to me? They're just one more season away from being declared busts a la Edie Griffin. Hinrich is a good point guard, but I don't even consider this trade unless they add in their draft picks.

You should be castrated for even proposing reaquiring Quitten, even if it is only "strictly for salary cap reasons to make it work".

I would absolutely love to see this trade go down. I'd even take Eddie Robinson off their hands rather than Scottie Pippen, just to make it work.

Tyson Chandler really knows how to gobble up those rebounds and get the putbacks. If he works out hard this summer, I think he can be an incredible force next year. Adding a little more strength to that frame will take him a long way. Hinrich is also great for this system IMO, he'sdeceptively quick if needed, a superb passer and a great shooter (very important). This guy needs to hit the weight room (and tan room) in the summer as well.

It's very risky trading someone like Francis right after you make the playoffs for the first time, but in this case, it may be worth it. Who would even try to get into the lane with Ming and Chandler looming?

Dont underestimate the intensity and team spirit that Chandler brings, he knows how to pump the team and the crowd up.

After that, all we'd have to do is parlay the 6.9M exception into a damn good SF and we're set. Jarvis Hayes, Jason Kapono, Hedo Turkoglu, Al Harrington, maybe even Rashard Lewis with some convincing.

I've noticed that a lot of people want to trade francis or mobley to a team that sucks, what makes people think that those players who are in crappy teams would make the rockets better if they can't make their current team better?

i dont think steve will get it, he has a shooting menatlity. We really need a true point. Like last night he jacked up 17 shots. He played good but he dosent need to be taken that many shots. Hinirich on the other hand, is more of a pass first point guard.

On a side note, all the Seattle papers are reporting that Ray Allen will probably be available for trade since he's reluctant to sign an extension with them.

    Steve Francis for Ray Allen?

I would kill to have Ray Allen on the same team as Yao Ming. It's an unbelievable duo.

francis is as much a "floor general" as mark jackson is a three-point specialist.

francis still has a shooters mentality. he doesn't see the court like a lot of true pg's do. notice the passes that MJ makes. he finds players that francis probably doesn't even know are there.

Here's what I like : we get both Hinrich and Allen.

Seattle needs a power forward, Bad. They have spare guards. They trade Allen and his max, get Chandler, cheap. Chicago needs a star, bad. We trade them Steve Francis. He teams with Crawford to make dynamic duo with Curry up front. Hinrich and Allen to Houston to perfectly team with Yao. Add draft picks and contracts to balance it out and make it good for everyone.

It's possible. It could work for all the teams.

However, I like Crash's deal fine, too. A power forward and true point are a good start for us in re-making this team into a title contender built around Yao.

Big boy - You're only hurting yourself with the Franchise love. Yeah, sure he's making baby steps. The sad truth is he won't ever be Hinrich - what Yao needs, what the team needs. He can be Stevie Franchise somewhere else, and be the all-star he was a few years ago. Not here, not ever again. That day is gone. Send him to greener pastures; better complementary players. Let him be the star somewhere else. He's not a complementary player - he's got to be a star.

    What about

    Steve Francis 11.3mi + 2.0mi TE

    For

    Kirk Hinrich 2.2mi
    Tyson Chandler 4.8mi
    Marcus Fizer (sign at) 3.0mi
their draft picks for this year 3.5mi which 2nd or 3rd
and we can get Emeka Okafor

    OR

We can send Tyson Chandler to WIZARDS for Kwame Brown.

It's interesting that if the Bulls traded Chandler and Hinrich for Francis, in essence it means they traded their 1999 draft pick (#1 overall - Brand) and a future 2003 lottery pick (#7 overall - Hinrich) just to drop down one spot in that '99 draft (#2 overall - Francis).

To make something like this work, what you need is for the Bulls to get the #1 or #2 pick in this year's draft. The top two players are PFs (Okafor and Howard) and the chance to draft one of those guys would make Chandler (or Curry) easier to trade.

I'm telling you: The draft is going to play a monster role in trading this offseason. Trades that seem to make sense now may not in a few months when the lottery has happened, the draft order is set and certain potential draftees start moving up the pecking order.

I think Chicago though is a prime potential location for Steve.

To all the folks that want Francis gone heres a fair question. Do you want Steve gone because of

    1. He's having a awful season.

    2. He dosen't fit the system.

Steve's having an awful season most of us wouldn't debate it. But look where Steve ranks in FGA

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/stats/bycategory?cat=Fielding&conference=NBA&year=season_2003&sort=28

He's near the bottom. He has shown that he is willing to give up his glory for the teams sake. I believe that he does get it, he's just having an awful season. Thats not a good reason to trade him we have all seen what Steve is capable of doing, its just a matter of time before he returns to his old form. Add that to his new style of play and I think we will have a heck of a team.

Bottom line is this team is 10 games over 500 despite Francis having his worst season of his career. Can you imagine where this team would be if Steve was having his typical season? Have patience, he's adjusted to JVG now we just have to wait until his game returns.

    Keep Steve.
