Unless the Finals go 7 games, and that appears unlikely at this point, the common draft will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday night in the CC.net chat room.

All GM's have posted their submissions to the draft except for the Warriors GM, who will submit Adonal Foyle and Chris Mullin unless I am otherwise notified. Furthermore, he will be replaced by moestavern19 unless he responds tonight or early tomorrow to this thread or the other one.

I believe Heath made a list of all of the players submitted, and when he returns later tonight he will probably post the list of the players in this thread. Remember, you do have the right to select an undrafted player (in our rookie draft) or a CBA guy-- however, if you are looking to pick up someone besides a rookie, you must provide me with a link that tells me something about their game, so I know how to rate them. And, no matter what the report says, I do know there's a reason they aren't in the NBA, so don't expect them to be stars or something. [IMG]

Also, Heath, if you get a chance, can you post the draft order for the common draft? I know you did this for the rookie draft, and all information was accurate and up to date. If you can't, don't worry about it, I'll do it tomorrow afternoon at work...

    Some draft guidelines:

5 minutes per team to pick
Draft will begin immediately at 7 p.m. Tuesday night
Email me at SlamDuncan2121@yahoo.com with a list if you are unable to attend.
If for some reason I have to leave the chat for a few minutes, Heath and BGM will be in charge of enforcing the basic rules...

This draft will be different than the rookie draft, as I will choose the best available player for some teams. For example, Rimmy has recently been gone, and he did not know the official date of the draft when he left. If for some reason he does not return by Tuesday, I will pick best available for him. This scenario is different from the rookie draft, because I am not giving weeks notice ahead of time on this one, so I understand some people might be out of town. I will pick best available for them if I don't get a list.

If you guys have any suggestions or questions, post them below.

P.S.-- to restate what was said yesterday, moestavern19 is the next poster on the GM list, should JDZAU be out of the league (and that appears to be the case). Moe, if you're reading this, you will probably be the new GM tomorrow, and you need to be drafting Tuesday.

I don't think I have a draft pick, but I'm letting you know that I won't be able to make the draft because I'll be flipping burgers at the All-Star Game (for charity).
I just don't want you to think that I'm a lousy GM who doesn't show up for league functions. Thanks.

That link explains the "common draft" somewhat, we've already held our rookie draft, the Warriors drafted Jamal Tinsley in that draft.

    http://members.home.net/krismccoy/runninraven/golden_state_warriors.htm

This is your teampage, it's updated by RunninRaven. Within the next day or two, you'll need to select 2 of your starting 5 players to be placed in this common draft. In the first link, you'll see where the Warriors are selecting.

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to turn a horrible horrible horrible team into a contender. It's been done in the past with such teams as the Bulls and the Clippers.

    http://bbs.clutchcity.net/ubb/Forum12/HTML/000508-3.html

This is the trade discussion thread, this is where you do your trade talk.

BTW, as you've seen in the past, there's almost always someone in the chatroom that's available if you have any questions or if you want to talk about a trade or if you want to make fun of the idiots in the Rockets forum. All of these things happen in the chatroom.

I'm sure Cat or Raven will provide you with your full roster soon. It's a fun league, hope you enjoy your stay...

Also I should add that it's not officially your team yet, if JDZAU posts by tomorrow morning, then it's still his team. If he doesn't post, then you are officially 1 of the 29 GM's in this league.

PS - BAH! to your post count comment, I'll catch up to you again...

I have your team page slightly updated, moe. I have the full roster, but none of the stats of your players, or any trades that JDZAU might have made anytime recently (not bloody likely).

I will update them so you can see.

I think we just welcome Moestavern as a new GM and get our draft pool finalized.

I know Cat put up two players for Warriors in the other thread and they are probably the best choices to put up also, but if you want to give up someone else of your starters you probably still can. Check your team, and if you want to give up someone else get back with your choices.

I guess Chucky is giving us some problems now - as he have been playing for several teams (as he normally does, but not at the same time).

Hornets was about to give up Chucky Brown in the draft, but can't do that anymore as he is tyhe property of PSJ. My opinion is that Hornets should be allowed to give up one of their best bench players, as it would be unfair to force them to give up a better starter. The reason for this is that if not Chucky had been their getting the starters minutes the next player on the bench would have taken that position and would have been going now. So by giving up a bench player, preferably the player that would have taken the starting spot if not Chucky had unfairly takien it should be allowed to be submitted to the draft. An other option could also be that when Hornets now can't submit Brown to the draft they will not need to submit another as they lose Chucky Brown anyway. This will not create too few players in the draft as not only submitted players can be picked.

I want to give up Hakeem Olajuwon, oh you mean I don't have Hakeem Olajuwon?

Well I guess I don't have to give up anyone then...

    Moe,

You are in now I guess... good luck turning that team around-- you'll need it. [IMG]

The Hornets will not have to submit anyone else into the draft... since it was my error, I cannot hold SF3 responsible and make him submit someone else.

One error in the Common Draft table, I acquired the Jazz's first round common pick in the McGrady/Rahim trade.

Moe here you have the stats for your 5 starters (off the webpage, not full season stats):

    C -- Adonal Foyle - 8.4 pts, 7 rebs, 1.8 blocks, 38 mins
    PF - Chris Porter - 12.3 pts, 6.4 rebs, 42 mins
    SF - Chris Mills - 21.1 pts, 4.2 rebs, 38 mins
    SG - Chris Mullin - 9 pts, 2 rebs, 35 mins
    PG - Mookie Blaylock - 15 pts, 4 rebs, 7 asst, 39 mins

Check whats available in the draftpool

    http://home.no.net/midgaard/ccnbasim/draft_pool.html

and then decide who you want to put up.
(btw this is only a temporary page - I will move this to the official pages later)

I think Cat did put in Foyle and Mullin for you, I earlier had Mullin and Porter in there, but what you reall should do is submit Mookie and Adonal and get hold of to new Chris's to start for you so you can change the team name to Golden State Chris's. [IMG]

The Cat, can you check the temp page over for errors and give me the stats for the ones missing. (John Stockton, Kevin Willis and all submittans from the central division).

Also can everyone check that I have their right submission in that table?

    Thanks

(For those of you checking this post right after I post it - I have not yet sent up the temp page - give me a couple of mins first)

It looks like it can be a while until I get that temp page up as I can't figure out how to control my FTP program without a mouse. [IMG]

Hey Castor, occasionally on some of the web pages that you update or upload, I get a "Stack Overload Line X" message. I don't really know what it means, or if it hurts anything, because the page always looks pretty much complete. I just thought I would let you know, because it supposedly happened on line 16 of the draft pool page.

I am not sure what that is. What browser do you use? The reason i ask is that sometimes the java scripts used by the pages do not show up correctly on certain browsers(older versions of netscape and IE). It is caused by some of the coding in the NBA.com files(that is where our scripts came from). I cannot look at any of the pages that i am not hosting with Netscape 4.77. I have to use ver. 6. Chances are it is just a java script causing your problem. If you can see the chart from Eric Williams at the top to Bryan Bracey at the bottom then you are ok.
