I'd be oay with both those picks at the moment. Won't know more until pre-draft camps, work-outs start happening.

But Carney really does remind you of a Iguodala/Richard Jefferson type player. AHTLETICISM!!!  - which is exactly what this team needs. The idea that we just need spot-up 3 point shooters for Yao to hit for wide open shots is great, but you score just as easily on cuts to the lane when he is doubled.

Rondo would also be a decent pick-up in the second round. Has he hired an agent and everything, or will he go back to school if he doesn't think he's a first round guy?

Less than 2 weeks until the draft lottery.

I highly doubt that Rando stays in the 2nd round. Once the workouts start, and he can show off his freakish athleticism, he'll shoot up the draft boards, even if he can't shoot.

^ Agreed. Carney at #8 would be a good choice IMO, he's got the athletcism we need on this team and could turn into a very good defender w/ his wing span.

I doubt Rondo falls that low on draft day, but even if he does, I'm not that high on him.

I don't think he has hired an agent, but I will bet everything he will go back to school before he let's himself get drafted in the second round. Also NBAdraft.net is not a mock draft I personally would follow.

I'd rather do Marcus Williams at #8 and Hassan Adams at #32. A much better PG and a SG that doesn't float or lose confidence.

... and then there's Miles Simon!

But, yeah, Bibby and Terry and Stoudamire (?) seem to have been valuable picks.

Another school who turns out pros who are better: Wake Forest

TD (no brainer), Chris Paul, Josh Howard and even Darius Songalia.

I like Marcus at #8, especially with RA here to teach him for a few years. That way he can work his way into the starting lineup at a natural pace.

    Rondo?

No. Sorry to be harsh, but the man's highlight video consists of dunks. He's not going to dunk 12 times a night in the nba. No dribble drives, no creating his own shot except for the turn around, no drive and shoot. Our second rounder has value. We should be looking at the best upside available. No shot equals no nba.

Carney at 8? I think he'd work out because of his size, quickness, leaping ability and work ethic.
