What is your initial reaction to the draft?

I can't believe they paid 2.5 mil for Taylor. They better sign him to a contract and not Landry him.

chase budinger - I think he should have stayed in college.

The other guy - don't know anything about him.

Budinger was gonna come out last year but he stayed for his junior year... I think he made a good decision by not staying for his senior year cause Arizona is in a rebuilding mode to become a powerhouse again and just hired a new coach

chase budinger wouldn't help his stock staying in college. he came out of high school as a hot shot and 2 years ago was projected to be a lottery pick. unfortunately, his game has stagnated and he isn't as good as anticipated, hence the drop to where he is. he'll help us out with his shooting and he can put the ball on the floor. but he's not starting material.

i really don't know much about the other 2 guys. but taylor seems to be extremely athletic and is a very good finisher.

if taylor can give us what von gave us it's a successful draft.

don't think chase will amount to anything. he looks like strictly a college player. at least novak was a great 3 point shooter. chase isn't good at any one thing.

great in that we got a lot in a matter of who knows how many hours....

    i don't know...depends how they perform...

i'm looking for a donte greene summer league performance in taylor, but other than that...what should we expect??

i wish the rockets could release scouting info about these picks..

I just don't know how good he is going to be as a pro. Might as well enjoy the coeds as long as you can.

Considering we didn't have a pick and picked up 3 potential late first round picks for a second and cash (not my cash) I'd give us an A. We'll see what we do with the picks and it could easily change into an A++ especially if we could snag Amare by subbing Chase and w/o giving up either Brooks or Landry (as previous proposed).

Why can't we vote for both "Great" draft and "I still want Amare"?

How can you not like what we did here? We got three guys for cash and a future second rounder. They provide depth not only on our roster where we have free agents in Artest and Wafer but gives us more flexibility in terms of making trades

That's, basically, losing a first rounder's salary without the player.

Llul's probably a stash pick. My vote for Bundinger's pending on further developments on the roster: Tracy McGrady, Von Wafer.

It's a supposedly weak draft yet they paid 2.5 million for a 32nd pick. The Rockets paid 1 million for Landry's pick (31st).

It reeks of desperation. They're keeping McGrady and hoping Taylor will be a band aid solution.

McGrady's never been out of the first round and they expect him to advance there against greatly improved Magic, Cavs, and Spurs?

I have no hope for any of these players to make a difference, unless through trade.

This draft has nothing to do with Amare.

We got 3 players when we had zero picks.

The draft went great in that perspective alone. I could care less about Les' money. The fact is that the 2.5 M doesn't count against the cap and that's all that should matter to Rockets fans a.

Great I guess just for the fact that we ended up having 3 picks instead of none... It is not that exciting that most of us anticipated, but I personally think that the Rockets did a good job in selecting players...

You do realize we won't seee the Magic or the Cavs until the finals, right?

But anyway this draft is fine considering the talent level, what we gave up, and the risk we are taking which is almost none. Unless there is a beast of a player expected to go in the second round next year.

Yes. I find it amazing how people actually called it a terrible trade. Why don't you go see what PHX did?

but it doesnt count against the cap. so, assuming your owner is willing to spend, he gets free (in cap terms) talent.
