Many people would say you draft BPA because that gives you the best shot at drafting a good enough player for the league. If that's the case, who would be the best player available at #8? I can't tell if it would be Foye, Brewer, Carney, Simmons, Shelden or somebody else. If you draft for need, then you pretty much have to go SG, maybe PF who can also play backup C. We need a SG badly, but what if Thomas drops? Are all the comparisons to Swift unfair? I think I have to go BPA, your thoughts?
You have to go with the best player available all the time because you will have the player for 5 years.
So picking BPA at #8 who is that going to be? Many here would say Brewer, but I keep thinking it might be Foye.
The problem with this draft is it's not so simple deciphering who'll turn out to be a better NBA player. So, I think need has to get a little more emphasis. As for the Rockets, the last thing we need is another undersized 2-guard. I hear people making comparisons between Foye and Wade, but he doesn't have anywhere near the length Wade has.
If Thomas drops, we try a trade with NO for #12 & 15. That way they get a local kid to bring the fans back to NO.
