He's so bad I'd rather watch Oprah talk to fat women about exercising than hear him talk about ANYTHING at all! That's how bad he is. Although I'd throw up after watching either Oprah's or Dr. Phil's show...I'd probably throw up more times after having watched one of his shows.

I'm not against getting in touch with your feelings, per se. But this guy is a nutjob. His appeal is basically that he's a big talking "straight shooter." People figure that if he's a loud, abrasive father figure-type, he *must* be right.

    Ah, American neurosis...

    :p

I've been watching him during my post-surgical recovery. He is much more tough-minded with people than most of you are giving him credit for.

Anyone see the Man Show where they got a Dr. Phil look-alike for a fake book signing? He was trying to get those (ugly) women to go back to his hotel and it was funny to see the conflict in their faces over his behaviour. At one point some chick just emerged from under the table where he was signing books to the horror or the women getting a book signed. Moderatly funny stuff.

On another note, the new Man Show is not as funny as the old Man show, but there have been a couple of funny moments.

    That sounds funny.

I like Dr. Phil though. There is nothing wrong with his message. And he helps people. His solutions may be simple and straightforward. But what is wrong with that? Simple solves 95% of all problems. Congress tries to solve the other 5% :)
