Dr Fauci trusted China's data and concluded COVID is just a more serious flu back in Feb 28

I guess Dr. Fauci were using the data from China's provinces other than Hubei where Wuhan is. He was assuming every country can take the steps similar to provinces like Guangdong or Henan. If you do what WHO had suggested, you will get a less than 1% death rate. It was a reasonable assumption. Dr. Fauci was right.

Then it turns out Wuhan should be the model
Why? It was a sudden hit for Wuhan and there was no test kits when the virus was unknown plus the incompetence of local officials hoping this was just a flu....... US are repeating those same stuff after two months: no preparation, no testing, Trump's under control drug, and absurd excuses.

Does that sound like a hoax to you? Something that you shouldn't be thinking about making preparations for?

 

Fauci was brought on by Trump and Pence to be part of the White House Task Force on January 29th. It was Trump’s decision, after talking to Republican senators, to make Fauci the face of the response team on March 10.

The problem with blaming this on Fauci is that we don’t know if he was privy to US intel on the virus. We know Trump was privy to that intel. If all Fauci had to go on was China’s numbers, then it’s understandable why he made that call. If he had access to the same info the intel community was providing, and he still made the choices he made, then he is complicit in all this as well as the man who brought him on. Remember, he only “hires he best people.”

 

I’ve already started hearing from my Trumper family and friends this effort to make Fauci the liberal scapegoat.

This isnt going to work. A... there is this thing called video evidence and facts. B. Even if they were wrong at times, Most people will be still believed virologists and epidemiologists more than the clown douche bag who calls himself a stable genius.

Fauci appears to have known at the time that this article was published that this virus may require closing schools, voluntary isolation, and telecommuting. I’m sure he was advising Trump the same thing. Trump made his hoax comment the same day this article was published.

Furthermore, Trump had already received intelligence reports indicating the seriousness of this virus. These reports prompted various senators to buy and sell stock in order to benefit from the impending pandemic.

Let’s not pretend Trump was somehow in the dark or uninformed about covid-19. He had the information. He just chose to downplay the threat.

 

Nobody has been perfect during this virus. I appreciate everyone's effort. I am sure even the smartest people still dont know how to interpret these numbers.

 

Peter Navarro seemed to know what was going on. In January he sent a memo to Trump advising a travel ban, and on February 23rd he sent the above memo warning Trump of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trump says he never saw the memos. Not sure I believe Trump on that.

 

That’s a nice way to put everyone in the same group. It’s a good rationalization.

In the real world, perfection is very nice but we want basic competency first.
