at Tracy McGrady tonight....yeah you can say its a bashing thread but on a night where the team was short handed and they go into the house of the defending champions what is he doing to help his teammates? he is just sitting on the bench emotionless.

No Cheer, no clapping, no hollering no NOTHING.

when everyone was up and pressing their teammates on in the fourth quarter he just layed back in his chair like nothing was going on.

when Ron fouled out he just sat there, no arguing, no debating, no sticking up for his teammates, no NOTHING

when Von hits that clutch 3 and everyone is fired up, including ron who had fouled out of the game and doing a little jig on the bench he just sat there. didnt look towards any of the players or coaches. no high fives, no thumbs up no smiles, no fist pumps no NOTHING

when the clock finally showed 00 and the entire team celebrated McGrady was the first one off the bench but he made a beeline straight towards the locker room. No 'good jobs', no 'way to fight', no 'lets build on this' no NOTHING just went walked faster straight to the locker room than he has ran on a fast break.

and seeing on this hurt me, it mad me furious. OK you're "injured" you can't play thats fine but there isnt a single player out there that is sooo banged up that he cant show simple signs of solidarity towards his teammates. Granted tmac never been a cheerleader like Deke but he has always done at least the smaller things like high fives and all. I mean the team just gutted out one of the most impressive victories on the season and instead of enjoying the glory of victory and the success of his teammates he sat there like someone had told him his dog was just ran over.

The sad thing is at this point the rockets cannot move him for anyone that is of similar talent and he clearly has shown he doesnt want to be here. Even if we get pennies on the dollar in terms of talent I am all for moving him right now, he is becoming more and more a cancer and even if this season needs to be thrown away for it, so be it. It will be better for the rockets as a team in the long run he has another month till the trading deadline to get his act together...his shtick is running real thin.

Team spirits were high after the Atlanta loss. Feigen was told by Yao, I'm paraphrasing here, "At least now they could go to bed and sleep easy tonight because of the effort". McGrady did not play.

McGrady returns for the next game against the Sixers and all hell breaks loose...

An atmosphere created by the McGrady debacle. Even Yao is frustrated at McGrady?
McGrady sits again and the Rockets are a team again. Even if they had lost the game to Celtics they had already shown themselves as a better team.

The pattern is very clear. For the sake of the team I hope management makes a decision that is best for chemistry and the win column.

tracy has gotten the JVG treatment. it's time for him to go. this board is just extremely negative.

tracy gets criticized for EVERYTHING basically.

he was the first one to congratulate wafer after his big 3 if you didn't notice.

The_Yoyo, I didn't notice any of that. If that's true, it's totally inexcusable.

wow, there's not enough negativity that you have to bring this up. Sorry, but Tmac doesn't have to be a cheerleader on this team. He just needs to get healthy and play hard. You act like he's getting a DUI and raping hot chicks in hotels and such.

    Where was Battier?

b/c there was little of that. tracy is a guy who is reserved and rarely gets excited even in games that he does play. and now we have people judging his body language?

if you had NBA league pass and got the boston's angles, when tracy was shown, he was seen moving his head trying to catch the action; he clapped on made baskets (not on EVERYONE of them obviously), and he was the first to congratulate wafer on his 3, and hi-fived the rest of the players.

but i think threads like this tell certain people are done with tracy. if you're done with him, go make a "bash tracy thread" and just criticize whatever. do you need a new thread for EVERY DAMN THOUGHT that pops up about tracy?

battier is in houston. he didn't go on the road trip, which is the smart move.

Now lets just say Tracy wasnt' there and Battier was. We would have a thread about why the hell Tracy wasn't at the game atlease Battier showed up even though he didn't clap or anything on the bench.

when yao scored that final basket, luis scola went to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek. watch the sequence again.
mcgrady was as dead as a door nail on the bench. maybe he is showing tough love, who knows.

notice how you have threads when tracy doesn't sit on the bench when he doesn't play?

shane has not been with the team on this road trip and nobody says a thing.

I saw it, too, and had pretty much the same reaction as The_Yoyo. It was a shameful display. When Grady's in a funk, he can't be bothered to be happy for ANYone.

Do you think Tracy McGrady is a good teammate? I have the same expectations from every player. If you're on the bench and you're not cheering for the guys busting their butt on the court, that's garbage.

If Grady hadn't been on the bench, this thread wouldn't exist.

And if Battier had been on the bench all night with a glum expression on his face, someone would've questioned it. The point is, though, that Battier DOESN'T mope when he's on the bench and Grady DOES.
