It's you. OK maybe not YOU, but at least some of you. The internet has given a medium for people to attack others based on their tastes and ideas and it sucks. You listen to X music? DOUCHE! You wear Y brand of jeans? DOUCHE! You do Z to your hair? DOUCHE! You watch A television station? DOUCHE! The only sure fire, tell tale sign that a person is a douche is when they attack or flame others simply for having tastes different than their own. The great think about having a variety of restaurants, television stations, music stations, clothing brands, hair products, etc. is that everyone can choose whichever ones they are comfortable with. So, the next time you want to get elitist and flame someone for their taste in something particular and call them a douche, maybe you should look in the mirror.

Definitely not a popped collar kind of a guy. In fact, I don't pop my collar, wear a visible undershirt, watch MTV, "style" my hair, tan, etc. I just get sick and tired of internet "douche" detectors deciding what are and what are not OK things for people to do to be comfortable/happy. Calling some a douche is the new "pointy elbows"
By this logic non-Nazis in WW2 Germany should refrain from questioning Nazis and accept their beliefs. Anyone can judge anyone.
