They've become pretty good players in their new teams, why weren't they this good in Miami?

Is D-Wade not good at bringing out the best in players and not making his teammates better?

Dorrell Wright was hurt a lot in Miami. Hard for Wade to make him better when he's not in the game. Golden St system fits pretty much any guy who can shoot.

Beasley has moved from PF to SF which is better for him in the NBA.

Big key is there is no pressure for those two right now.

Beasley was yanked from the game for any mistake he made in Miami. I think he found it hard to play to his full potential when he was constantly worried about making a mistake and getting pulled from the game. Coach Spo puts a heavy emphasis on defense and would often sit Beasley in favor of Haslem -- and for good reason, Beasley is still terrible on defense. But he's a great offensive talent that never got a chance to be the #1 option until Minnesota. Now, he can play without the worry of making mistakes and he's blossoming.

I'd be careful reading too much into Wright. He's playing in a system that is notorious for inflating stats. He's still not playing any defense (does anyone in GS play defense?). Wright is a good shooter but also a poor defender.. just like Beasley, ha.

Beasley was that good but Spoelstra and D-wade didn't used him as Michael needs to, Dorell is crap on a crap team.

Corey Maggette has a career season last year in warriors uniform

This year Corey Maggette is awful as hell

    don't overrate warriors offensive model

Beaslet was a #2 pick, there's no surprise there....Wright is mostly a shooter who shoots a ton in GS's system.

I wouldn't say that Maggette had a career year last season for the Warriors, considering that he had 3 better seasons when he was with the Clippers.

And Dorell Wright isn't exactly crap. Are his stats inflated by playing on the Warriors? Probably. But the man is leading the league in 3s made while shooting 41%. He's also one of the top rebounding SFs in the league (slightly inflated by the fact that he plays almost 40 MPG).

I knew Beasley was a gifted scorer but he didn't have the brains to play on a team with expectations. Blaming his meltdowns (either on or off the court) on Wade or Spoelstra is crazy. He had two seasons to get his head together and he didn't. Getting traded to Minny for the equivalent of warm spit set him on notice his career was a stake.

Even this year, Beasley has done some stupid stuff on the court late in games that makes me smh. I'm still not convinced he will keep his head on straight for the long-term. There is something "off" about the guy. Playing in Minny where nobody cares and winning doesn't matter is exactly what the doctor ordered for him.

Dorell Wright isn't doing any better than last year. His minutes have doubled, but his fg% has gone from 46% to 42%... a big drop. Also his defense has not been as good. If anything he was better last year, the increase in scoring is directly in proportion to his increase in minutes

Mike Beasley's increase is also in large part due to an increase in minutes and field goal attempts. In Minnesota he has a large part in the offense. Also, he is 21 years old, and should get progressively better each of the next few years.

I would point out the Beasley's rebounding and steals are down and his turnovers are up. His efficiency is also lower than his rookie season.

If anything they were more efficient in Miami

Well... they do promote him attempting like 6 threes a game now.

Its just further prove defensive teams can't develop offensive talent. And yes I thought Beasley was that good offensively. Wasn't sure on Wright, but the Warriors got a steal, thats for sure.

I made a thread about Michael beasley and 90 percent of you guys hated on the guy. He's become such a good player this year. We probably could have snatched him at a really low price. Beasley>Battier,Budinger. With such a high potential as well..oh well at least we have T-Will on the bench? ;)

Beasley still isn't a good player. Just because someone scores 20 points a night doesn't make him a good player...

as Nook already pointed out, both guys are essentially the exact same players with more minutes.

beasley's PER and TS% are nearly identical to his rookie year (slightly up from 2nd year), his AST% has gone up a decent amount from his first 2 years but his REB% has taken a big hit this year. and his 53.2 TS% is nothing to write home about. he basically scores a lot by shooting a lot.

as for wright, his PER is also nearly identical to his last 2 healthy seasons, and his TS% has taken a sizable hit from last season. he just plays twice as much and shoots a lot.

Good numbers on bad teams. ALways take that with a grain of salt.

It really depends what you consider Good. But if you can score 20 pts a night in NBA, you are a pretty good player. You may not be a great player though.
