Damn it looking mighty cool! The trailer is the actual game!! Amazing graphics. Nice site if you view it with Internet Explorer because it take up your whole monitor. The Firefox have a boarder around the website so it isn't as cool looking.

That game will be amazing. The 3 best games this year are going to be Halo (undisputed) and then DOOM 3 and Half-Life 2 in no particular order. I remember the original doom with it's horribly blurry graphics, it's come a long way.

I wonder what the minimum PC requirements are for this game...

I need a new desktop to play some of these bad ass games, but was thinking I'd wait for Half-Life 2 and build one that will run that at high quality, but does anyone know how much later HL2 comes out after Doom?

Last I heard, these are the specs for Doom3:

    Low-End:
    - 1.5 Ghz P4 or equivalent
    - 512 MB Ram
    - GeForce4 Ti 4600 or Radeon 9500

    Mid-Range:
    - 2.4 Ghz P4 or equivalent
    - 1 GB RAM
    - GeForce 5950 or Radeon 9800 Pro/XT

    High-End:
    - 3.4 Ghz P4 or AMD equivalent
    - 2 GB RAM
    - GeForce 6800 Ultra or Radeon X800 XT PE.

I don't even meet the low end right now, which is why I'm in the process of building a new Amd 64 system. This game and HL2 and going to require you to have a beast of a machine to run them!

I cannot wait for this game. I hope it's at least as half as good as it looks.

OK... I know that the chainsaw in DOOM is an old favorite.

But come on folks.. they're on mars at some scientific experiementation facility.. why, oh why, is there is a zombie on this thing with a chainsaw?

From what I've read, HL2 won't release until next Year. Yikes! Anyway, I bought one of the ATI Radeon 9600XT video card and I get the game for free when it releases.

Hopefully there will be a demo for Doom 3 in a couple of weeks. It should be releasing by next month.

    Because it's Doom.

And, since when do you look for realism and authenticity in shooter like Doom?

Wow. Why would you even need to ask this?

You a Doom hater or something?

    ;)

Doom 3's date is supposedly August 3. I wasn't as excited about it as HL2, but PC GAMER just did a review of it and it sounded fantastic.

My card is more than up to the task, but it's been about time for me to hit a processor/mb upgrade anyway, so this is even more reason to get those upgrades done.

I've been hearing it will be released in early September for awhile now. Here is an interview from June with the CEO of Valve Software, Gabe Newell. Here is the little blip about HL2:

HomeLAN - Finally, we have to ask; how is Half-Life 2 coming along?

Gabe Newell - Good. It's in great shape. We anticipate delivering it to Vivendi in August.

Shouldn't it be some kind of new fangled light beam plasma chainsaw or something?

    That'd rock.

Yeah, they can ADD weapons like that (and they probably will)...

But the BFG, the shotgun and the chainsaw are the national anthems of 1st-person shooters.

Im sorry but you need a normal chainsaw.

There is something about using up all the ammo in your futuristic guns.......and then cutting up alien filth with an old, rusty chainsaw. :D

The chainsaw was a nice, simplistic weapon.

But nothing will ever beat the CROWBAR.
