Yep, I'm sure they're the favorites to dethrone Boston with this signing. It was needed though. The Sixers have nobody who could shoot beyond 18ft.
Not as big as the Rockets combined acquisitions of Patrick Ewing Jr. Fredrick, Weis, and DJ Strawberry though.
Did he completely just mail it in after he got that MLE contract from Cleveland(I think it was a full MLE ...)? I remember he was a decent player before he chose to go there.
He was fair to middling before he got the contract from Cleveland and quit being a competitive basketball player. The game where he hit 12 3-pointers is what got him that contract.

That is funny stuff BB!! There could be worse pickups than Donyell to sit on the end of the bench and come on to play spot minutes and shoot 3-pointers. They've got Brand, Young and Evans at the PF spot and Dalembert, Speights and Smith at the C spot. So they're not exactly expecting the guy to play minutes. Smith tore his ACL and is out for the season, so Donyell is coming in as a 6th string big for them. Smith has a nice 18 footer, so I guess they're bringing in Marshall as their backup 'shooting big'? Even in 10-15 mpg last season he was still pulling down 3 rebounds. Perhaps a change of scenery will do him some good?
he's old, but come on..he's not a HORRIble player. This is a solid pickup for depth on a team that already has Dalembert, Brand, Thaddeus, Smith, Evans.. he can easily be an injury fill in. Great move.
He Fed-Exed his game priority overnight. At the same time Danny Ferry likes overpaying people. I believe the ball boys make 40k a year with benefits.
