no reason to panic...new orleans is pretty good coming off a terrible loss. the rox probably didnt practice the last two days and coming off a difficult 4 games in 5 night road trip...this is a scheduling loss.

however, can we either post yao up more and allow him to dominate and be the focal point of the offense OR really commit to adelman's offense. one or the other. the defense is great (adelman has done a great job with the d) but the inconsistent offense wont win a championship.

i have never seen mcgrady so bad...how can he score in single digits two straight games!!!!

That's the problem i have with Rick Adelman. Why the hell would you want to keep doing pick and roll with Yao/Tmac when you know Tmac isn't effective?? Why not go to Yao in the post more often?? In fact, it is MUCH BETTER to go to Yao in the post than pick and roll with him. Why can't the team realize that....or is the coach have no control over how the team is supposed to run?? As a fan watching game, it is really pathetic and just sicking me watching how dumb this team is losing game because of things like that....

    It's like this...

Rockets down by 2 ....ok let's jacking up shots....since we're safe.
Rockets down by 4....ok let's not go to Yao yet...
Rockets down by 5....ok NOW let's go to Yao.
Rockets down by 2 again...ok let's not go to Yao we're safe...
Rockets down by 7...oh shyt...let's go to Yao.
Rockets down by 1...ok we're safe...let's jacking up shots.
Rockets down by 5...ok Yao in the post.

So i mean you get the idea how stupid this team is?? They don't use Yao until they sense dangerous....this is an indicative of a team that don't have a sense of desire to win game.

You have hit the nail on the head. Rick doesn't go to Yao until there is a sense of danger. Yao has his weaknesses, but he is the only go to guy right now.

It should not be that hard

T-Mac is morphing into Peja Stojakovic before our very eyes
    no defense playing jump shooter

    I beg to differ.
First Rockets is not the only team that has a tough schedule. Look at lakers and how they FIGHT the celtics.

Second, Hornet didn't play very well. But Rockets simply played worse.

yes, there's plenty reason to panic.. This team is by far the most talented in the league on paper, but in reality, we're mediocre at best.. we didn't have our best player (yes, Artest is our best player. Tmac suddenly turned into trash and the Big Liability is, well, the big liability), and yet we were close to beating this hornets team on the backside of a back2back for them..

if Tracy McGrady would've scored 16 points instead of 6 or whatever the hell he had, we would've won this game.. I'm not asking for the old dominant 26-6-6 Tmac, just 16, 16 for the love of god, and we can't even get that..

dude is not injured, he's moving like a cat out there, he's fine, he just lost interest, or his wife is boning some other dude and he can't take his mind off of it, but for all I know, I'm taking whatever his excuse is right now.. I've bought into the "back flaring up" thing, the "bad knee" thing, the "sick mother in law" thing, the "tough time with my family" thing, but it aint gonna work, I'm not the same Tmac homer I used to be a couple of years ago.. I'm tired of disappointment after disappointment.. nothing brings more happiness to me than a win with Tmac dominating, I love watching him own, I pull for him every single damn game, I always anticipate a great game, an electrifying dunk, a badass pass, an amazing turn-around, an in-rhythm three, but he always disappoints, and I'm just about done with this guy..

time is running out Tracy, and I never thought you could piss me off as much as you've done lately.. I idolized the guy for god's sake, and all I see is a guy getting paid 20 millions sending a behind-the-back floor pass into the 2nd row, then walk back sluggishly to get owned on defense by Rasual Butler..

this was extremely aggravating, yet there are some posters who point out that, relative to last game, he showed more effort.

    makes it all better.

denniscd, We don't have the personnel to execute Adelman's offense.

We have a lot of injuries.Tracy,Ron and Battier. Barry is just coming back,Wafer isn't fully healthy but I don't think that Adelman can rally the guys through this tough time.

I have always considered him to be a weak coach under pressure and I'll admit how surprised I was to see us playing such solid defense last year which gave me some hope that we could get to the 2nd round of the playoffs.
I'm not a JVG fan or a RA Fan and I hardly ever demand coaching changes but we need a new coach under the circumstances.
A new coach can't bring the team back to health but a tough minded one can give some direction and energy back to the ball club.

    More to say.

I dont know why they didnt go to Yao when Chandler had his 4th foul in the third quarter??? Why they didnt not hand the ball to Yao?

T-mac, watching you in this game is unbearable. Just lost my words.

RA, I am not happy with the coaching of the game!

We had chances and we just wasted brutally......Sigh.

The Hornets were awful and this game was there to be won despite the scheduling. I don't buy it. If the Hornets had been sharp and blown the Rockets out, fine.

The Rockets must commit to Adelman's offense more than they have or they cannot contend. Riding Yao the entire season ain't gonna work. Riding him (and/or McGrady) during stretches of games, especially in crunch time, is the way to go. But the standing around, feed-Yao-at-all-costs offense for game-after-game-after-game will fail.

They threw the ball into Yao, he got doubled, and he would pass it out to an open guy, who would miss their shot. Battier missed a late 3, Tmac a late 3 and Alston a late 3.
