Oh, man. They played that clip on The Daily Show. That was one of the funniest damn things I've ever seen.

Then, they had a quote from Patrick Lehey saying that it's "curious" that the West Nile virus has been so prominent this year. Lewis Black said that the mosquitos were obviously working for Al Queda.

    That show is hilarious. :D

In all seriousness, and I say this knowing that I'm not going to make a whole lotta Texas fans here, this is just another example of the void in leadership in contemporary politics. I am in no way partisan in this, as Gore was at least as bad...The only person in the entire administration that I'd have enough respect for to want as my leader would be Powell...I'm not saying that verbal gaffe's directely equate to poor leadership, as they all make them, and the media picks and chooses who to focus on in this regard, but, seriously, is there ANYTHING about this man that makes you think " Great Leader"? He has strengths, as he picked a pretty good team, and tries to keep partisanship to a minimum, but sheesh...

Bush Sr. wasn't a real leader-type, but he gave the presidency a sense of legitimacy and proffesionalism his son doesn't...

Clinton was a leader...he should have been impeached, and that has nothing to do with sex, it has to do with the head of a testimonail-based legal system comitting perjury...but at least he was a leader...

Reagan was a leader....he may have been half cukoo, and not the brightest bulb in the arcade, but the man just came across as a leader...

It was funny. Bush = Reagan without the acting lessons.

On the headlines in London yesterday I saw in quotes 'Saddam is making a monkey out of us' and I thought 'oh, no. Bush is at it again.' Turned out to be the British Home Minister (or somesuch position) Blunkett (or Plunkett or...you get the point).

Roc - where is this Irac you speak of ;)
If the media were to follow my everyword I am sure I would screw up occasionally also. I dont see the big deal, sure it`s funny but I dont read anything more into it. As my grandaddy down in Del Rio used to tell me, you can lead a horse to water but by golly you cant make him a pinball wizard.

"There is an old saying in Tennessee. I know it's in Texas. They say, 'Fool me once, shame on you.' You can fool me, but you can't get fooled again."

Gee, thanks, Dubya for inventing this saying and claiming that it originated in my home state.

It does sorta suck to live in a state that if they had voted for, supposedly, one of their own in the stiff wooden board, er Al Gore, that we wouldn't have to listen to stupid stuff like this. Instead, we would have to hear about how great Gore is for inventing the Internet or something like that.

Whoever said that this was the best our political system could come up with hit the nail on the head.

Clinton was impeached. Impeachment does not mean that you are kicked out of office, it is just an accusation/investigation.

Reagan was and is the man, a Great leader.

Ok I'm not really getting this.

What's the problem? Silly democrats arguing over finishing phrases? Old sayings? Matters of national security, what? Semantics? All right.

Did Bush finish that speech with an encore of "Pinball Wizard"??

I can see him doing windmills on his guitar a la Pete Townsend.
