The Sporting News: Rockets will ease Yao in... Yup, to all you folks who think Yao will jump in and be a starter: http://www.sportingnews.com/nba/articles/20021014/433192.html At least not at the start of the season...seems like Rudy T wants to bring him in slowly and give him time to adjust and recover from fatigue.
It doesn't actually say anywhere that he will or will not be starting; only that they need to be careful to not try to push him too far too fast.
Exactly, he doesn't even have time to adjust to the jetlag muchless adjust to the NBA game and American life. But once he gets used to the NBA game and whatnot, I expect big numbers from him.
Rudy has said basically that Ming wouldn't be force fed but that there was a chance that he would start. It doesn't say anywhere that Ming wouldn't start.
