I know this season has been very frustrating for Rockets fans. But amidst all this disappointment look at the bright side. The Rockets are a growing team. Has anyone forgotten what the Mavs record was jus 3 seasons ago. it was 40-42, then they went on to win 50+ games and this season (until this most recent collapse) were projected to win 60 or more.

Maybe this team will not end up improving like the Mavs did but all i can say is that i for one am looking ahead to THIS off-season and the upcoming season. why? well for one, next seasons Rockets will be a completely different team. They will have new uniforms (thank God), a new arena, and if everything goes to plan Elton Brand. i personally believe that a player of Brand caliber would do wonders for this Rockets team. The guy can score, rebound and block shots. He was among league leaders in each category until he got injured. he averaged a double double as rookie. He would also spread the offense as he would also draw double teams. I doubt that Clippers will re-sign him as Clippers dont re-sign anybody.

This Rockets team will not go very far with Francis AND Mobley. They make each other redundant. They very similar players, just that Francis is better. Sure Mobley is a scorer, but happens when he doesnt score. It doesnt look good does it? Maybe a shooter/defender would be better fit in the starting line-up. Someone in the mould of ginobili. The Rockets need to alter the backcourt this off-season if they plan on making SERIOUS improvements for next year imho.

But fellow Rockets fans, dont despair, maybe this disappoint will force management to get out of this current comfort zone they are in, and make the NECESSARY changes, whether it be the coaching staff or the players' or both!

LETS LOOK FORWARD TO AN EXCITING OFF-SEASON AND UPCOMING SEASON!!!!

I wouldn't care if the Rockets got rid of both Francis and Mobley right now. It's really hard to defend them after seasons they've had. Besides improving his defense a little, Mobley hasn't shown much this year. After signing the most lucrative deal in team history, Steve proceeds to have the worst season of his career...beautiful...

Steve is untradeable, though, unless a sign & trade deal is worked out, and those are tough to pull off.

Another reason not making the playoffs is good is that I don't have to STOP POSTING. :)

The Rox are not the Mavs. The Mavs owner did everything in, and not in, the book to change that team around.

The Rox owner needs to reevaluate 'greatest team ever' words and find where they came from? Either the players are not or were coached below their synergistic abilities or

    Or

Or it is time to read Cuban's book on revitalizing a franchise.

The Owner Alexander needs to evaluate and reevaluate every single aspect of this organization.

The Owner Alexander better be prepared to pay the dreaded Luxury Tax or face the prospect of finishing dead last as soon as next season. It could happen.

Without fundamental changes it just might happen.

I just read that thread again.. A-Train, you're mean. ;)
I wish The Cat were here just so you two could go at it hammer and tongs. (what are tongs, anyway??)

Sorry, BigSexy, but it'll take me a bit to lose the despair.

Without frustration would mean I don't care...

I love the Rox and it is hard to love them right now...If this was game 10 of the season, it'd be differnt, but hell, there are ONLY 3 games left...

I have never, ever, seen anyone give up, let alone an entire NBA team give up...
