You can't stop him, you can only hope the refs blink for a half second. Otherwise, Tim won't be able to go to the line for the umpteenth time for yet another sissy ticky-tack foul!! I am so sick & tired of seeing him bailed out again & again & again! Granted, he's one of the absolute best out there & is fundamentally sound in his game skills. Anytime he gets within 10 feet of the hoop, you can almost count on either a shot attempt or a shot attempt & then another 1 or 2 from the stripe. He's become a whiner, too. It's a pity. As boring as this game was, it could have been a bit more interesting had Tim actually earned his points. Once again, Houston gets mugged by lil' baby Tim & the ref 3. I expect the same on Saturday. Rockets can't win in SA.

the refs did make some questionable calls ther toward the end. first they weren't calling anything, and then they were calling the slightest of touches. not cool.

Tim Duncan has taken over Allen Iverson as the most whiniest biatch in the NBA.

Maybe Yao should toss a ref like Timmy did.

The Rockets play pretty much the same way as the spurs but they only shot 5 times at the charity stripe. The Spurs get to the line 21 times.

the three biggest reasons we lost this game were ref #1, ref #2, and ref #3. what was the disparity on free throws, like 20 to 6 or something?

cuttino drives in, gets fouled, no call, gino hits a 3. come back down, cuttino hits a jumper, oh wait it's an offensive foul. then late, mo t goes up for a shot and the ball ends up out of bounds. somehow he wasn't fouled and a spur didn't touch it, mo just threw the ball straight into the ground apparently. and if they had called that one ball out on us instead of parker, i may have looked up where the refs lived and killed them. they took one of the ugliest games ever, a game we were winning, and handed it to the spurs.

where was duncan fouled on that last 3 point play? or that one earlier where he split the double and both guys had their arms raised? pathetic.

on a side note, does jvg ever argue? i'm getting a little sick of his being so passive with the refs. pretend you care or something, get a T once in a while when we're getting screwed. oh, and save a timeout once in a while, dumbass.

what was up with the friggen calls? we got not NO calls whatsoever compared to the spurs! grrr

at the end, how come they fouled parker and that other guy [94% freethrow shooting guy] and not bowen?

    ahhh what a dumb loss!!!!

Bring back Eddie. He and Cato will handle Duncan, not MoT.

From early in the first Q, it looked like we were gonna get worked by the zebras tonite. Duncan is trash compared to old school Dream. If Dream had gotten this kinda special treatment he would've averaged 35 a game. Oh wait, he already did that against DRob in the playoffs anyways.

Nah, that would never work - too physical. As soon as he got close to the ref Yao would fling his arms up and fall to the ground.

Funny! The ref would get suspended for the contact!

you can't foul a guy unless he has the ball (or if you do they get a ft and the ball back) and the spurs didn't give it to bruce. which was smart.

on that note, has anyone ever freakin swished a 3 on which they were fouled and then proceeded to airball the free throw? that was crazy.

Too funny. For some reason, I can't get the image out of my head of an NBA ref denying Yao position in the post. lol

Id like to see Yao mean more often. I want to see him fight back when players like Nesterovic are throwing him around. If he gets called for a foul, so what. It will even out over time.

I got kicked out of chat for yelling profanities at the refs. I'll say this much; we did get away with a few things. I think Steve and Cat each got away with traveling once. And maybe Rasho got one bad call. But that was nothing compared to the calls we weren't getting and the stats bear it out. Freaking ridiculous. Yao not getting to the line was as much the refs not calling fouls as him just sucking. It was annoying listening to the Spurs announcers be such homers. Still, we lost this game ourselves. A lot of bonehead mistakes, and the second chance opportunities we kept giving the Spurs was maddening. Yao has to learn to rebound. Overall, we had good defense, but in the fourth, I didn't see enough effort on the defensive end.

The problem with the Refs tonight was this:

They called the game very tight as far as offensive fouls go, but for hacks and wrestling matches underneath on the defensive end, they swallowed the whistle.

Combine that with poor shooting by both teams and you get a nasty ugly basketball game.
