Something that has really bothered me in the substitution patterns of jvg is the fact that he benches yao and tmac at the same time in small spurts. you never bench both your superstars at the same time unless you have a third scorer on the team (which in this case we don't). Rudy never used to bench dream and clyde at the same time, he used to always have one of them in the game at all times. Even the great calvin murphy used to say this. The fact that jvg does this allows the other team to get back into the game if we are ahead or it allows us to fall behind even further if we are behind. Until we get that third scorer we should NOT rest tmac and yao at the same time.
Yao has bad stamina, sometimes he is forced to rest on bench, or foul troubles. and we gotta let T-mac to rest in order to get a good use outta him in 4th quarter. So it happens.
maybe to build the chemistry between yao and tmac, jvg makes sure that they're together as much as possible..
