i have cut back my posting new threads by request, so i will keep it short and simple. the team is playing great basketball without mcgrady. yes, we have blown two 4th quarter leads at home, but on the whole, the team should be proud of its record with mcgrady sidelined. dont be surprised if we come back on saturday and beat the spurs handily. mcgrady plus the sting of these last two losses will propel us to a great effort. i commend adelman for the job he has done without mcgrady in the lineup. we survived his injury which could have put us in a deep hole. i hope we get san antonio in the playoffs...we match up well with them. they arent playing well either right now. they are vulnerable. we beat them twice on the road last year (without mcgrady one game and yao the other) and we played them well on the road this year. keep the faith...dont over react to a couple of bad 4th quarters.
As I said N times before, this team needs Tmac. Role players are role players because they are not consistent; otherwise, they would be stars. Without Tmac, the rockets winning straigt won't last long. I hope he can come back next game.
on any given night, a poor NBA team can beat a great one having said that, i think this thread is insane
Hopefully the Rockets will learn from the mistake and move on against the Spurs. Ball movement was horrible in the fourth.
These were our wins: @MEM TOR @ORL NYK @WAS @NYK MIN The win at Washington was nice. Other than that ... sorry, not impressed.
If you're going to post new threads can you at least stop making them your own predictions or some life lesson we all supposedly need to learn.
Disappointed... I was hoping you would say don't be surprised if Alston is traded before the deadline.
Exactly...look what happened tonight. denniscd is right. While on the win streak, everyone on this board almost made this team out to be a great team. So great that there were MANY threads about trading Tracy McGrady...probably THE most talented player on the team. After a couple of unfortunate 4th quarters, everyone is saying we're in the cellar. We've got a little more than half the season to play, let's see if anything happens (whether it be a trade or an astros-like second half of the season). Also, until the refs start officiating Yao correctly, the Rockets will have an uphill battle from the get-go. the N.O. meltdown occured because the refs didn't call the 2 fouls Chandler made on Yao. The way Dalembert was bumping Yao in the 4th trying to front him was WAY too physical. There should have been a couple fouls on him as well, instead, Yao was called for a phantom offensive foul. Dalembert sticks his head under Yao's arm, and it's a "hooking" foul on Yao? Give me a break. Let's postpone the end of the season predictions for after the allstar break
The game was making me ill and the boiling urge to punch the wall was swelling up like a time bomb in my knuckles. I see the frustration in our players as they struggle to finish out the game. I grit my teeth and endure the sight of our players lost on the court with no map to lead them to victory. The Sixers consistently drive it in and score. Lay up after freakin lay up. Oh great! They missed-----Damn, they got the rebound. The Rockets looked flabbergasted that their opponents are actually trying to win the game. The Sixers are swarming everyone causing chaos that leads to catastrophic turnovers. Idiots! Make a decent pass! What a meltdown! T-Mac, where the hell are you! Deke stomps his gargantuan feet on the sidelines and scowls. Our Coach shrugs and shows a sliver of emotion. We lose. A wall is broken. A fist bleeds. A sour ending that made us look like disintegrating flowers against the awesome blast of fury that was the Sixers. But hey, as soon as T-mac is back, we'll get this train back on track. All the naysayers will soon be eating crow.
If we had lost all the games without Tmac this season it would have been almost impossible to even try to make the playoffs so 2 Thumbs UP for Rockets!!
that's why those guys are role players they are inconsistent not only from game to game but from quarter to quarter, they can go from playing well to playing terribly. It is easy in this league to play well for a qtr and score 8 pts, but a role player will finish the game with 10 pts, while a star plays well for all 4 quarters and gets 32 points.
There is no reason to suppose that TMAc will save the game. Our only problem is the rotation of the players in the final quarter. Alderman played Yao too long time, and this make Yao is not effective in the fourth quarter. Another mistake is Alderman always let Head play in the fourth quarter. Head is useless when we are lead because he always be hesitate and make TO. Alderman seems use Head as the replacement of TMAc when Tmac is hurt. In fact Head is not TMac. They play in different styles.
I want to keep my faith. But even if they by any chance beat the Spurs, they still can't make the Playoffs by losing to the Sixers twice. So I had better lower my expectation (from a contender at the beginning of this season to a lottery team now) and let them surprise me - make the Playoffs.
