Orlando sportscasters are saying Donnell Harvey is being traded, but they did provide the receiving team? Who's involved? Is it a three-way?
Here is the latest. It looks like the Rockets are not involved. Magic announcer David Steele and a Phoenix announcer: During the Orlando Magic and Toronto Raptors game this afternoon, Magic announcer David Steele told the viewing audience that Magic forward Donnell Harvey did not make the trip with the team because a trade involving him is pending. Now we have received word that Suns center Robert Archibald was held out of Phoenix's game at the Los Angeles Lakers tonight due to a pending trade. Coincidently, if the two were to be swapped for one another, the trade works on the RealGM trade checker (Trade ID:1354328). There was no word from either side on where the other was headed but we believe that it's very possible that Harvey and Archibald have been swapped for each other with prehaps a draft pick also going Orlando's way.
True. I was just hoping the Rockets could cast off a scrub and somehow get a backup PG -- perhaps Reece Gaines.
He's really not terrible. He's athletic as hell and is said to have a knack for rebounding. When he came into the league, I envisioned him as a poor man's Amare.
I don't know why we didn't try to sign him as a vet minimum as we sorley needed an athletic forward and some youthful talent(Harvey, Ford and Demarr were all young guys I was interested in last summer). Given Orlando did sign him and another team wants him enough to offer something it suggests he does have value.
Harvey is going to the Suns for a second-round draft pick. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/spor...c22,1,7534459.story?coll=orl-sports-headlines Harvey came out too early from Florida. A poor man's Rodman was really who he was most compared to when he came in to the league because of his energy, but he really hasn't done much at all.
Kind of like James Lang (okay, so New Orleans claims he's 'injured'; seems like one of those Collier 'phantom injuries').
Good trade for the Suns. Harvey brings some of the energy they lost with Bo Outlaw traded away and Stoudamire out for a while.
Yes. I didn't look at him and say, "Hey, he reminds me of Amare." I looked at him and said, "Hey, there's a young PF loaded with athleticism, enormous strength, and very few offensive skills...He could have an impact on the league at some point." Harvey was very highly-touted out of high school. Think Amare without the the awesome pre-draft camps. His draft status wasn't so hot, so he decided to go to Florida for a year, and that proved to be a pretty bad decision. He should have come straight out or gone to Florida for at least 3 years. If he had come straight out of high school, he would have at least had that excuse for a while. He could have been a very good PF if he had stayed in school, IMO.
