I was curious is anyone on the BBS has ever donated plasma for money. I could use a little extra cash each month and it seems like a relatively easy way to go about doing that. Plus, I get to help those in need so everybody wins.

I looked it up online and saw that the range was generally $20 to $30 per donation, and up to 2 donations per 7 day period. So it could potentially be an extra $200+ per month. That right there could probably cover cable, internet, gym membership, and gas.

So has anyone ever done it? If so, where did you go? What are your experiences and how much were you compensated?

i donated plasma once but wasn't paid for it.

it makes you cold...if i remember right they cycle something through you...and when they do it's like they're pumping ice water into your veins.

I don't think it is too good for you to donate 4 or 5 times per month. If you want to do it once per month it is fine.

You normally can sit there doing homework, or watch a movie while you are donating. It does kind of hurt. and Yes, they cycle your blood through a machine that takes out the plasma needed and then puts your blood back into you in one fluid motion.

I'm going off what I read on a FAQ about plasma donation. It said you can go 2 times in a 7 day period, as long as you've had 48 hours in between visits. I don't think it would say that if it weren't safe.

Forget plasma and donate some semen. I don't know how well it pays, but it's a lot more fun...

It takes up to like 6 months to get cleared, with a lot of donations in that period, and then they may not even deem your sperm usable. Plus the compensation ranges from $1 - $45 depending on the sample, so you never have a guarantee of what you'll get.

Seems like way too much of a hassle, but definitely more fun during the actual donation.
