The "DLeague Showcase" tournament is happening right now. Lots of scouts and even team execs at one location, I think. Motiejunas being "showcased" for a trade? Also, I wonder if this means Asik is close to playing again.
Maaaaaaaaan..... Dmo's probably thinking, "Why couldn't I pout my way out of this, like Omer? Now I gotta fly Southwest Airlines back to that bordertown nowheresville...." Ach so...... (rep 2 u, my brotha)
Seeing that he requested it several times last season, I'm sure this was his request. Can't blame the guy, he can't get playing time and needs to freshen up on his skills. You can't do that by riding the pine
He is heading all the way to Reno, where he is gonna be a star: http://www.nba.com/dleague/news/showcase_schedule_announced_2013_10_09.html
Probably good to get him some burn down there. Guy needs to get his confidence & legs back under him to contribute this season in the big league. The "showcasing" thing I dont buy. GM's know who this guy is or they have been living under a rock. Everyone knows what he can and can't do right now. IMO this looks more like a way to get his confidence back under him, and get some work in. He's only a second year player, and probably wont hit his stride in the league for another year or two.
This is good for him. Watching him on the floor he still seems unsure of himself. And doesnt throw his body around as much as i'd like a 7 footer off the bench to.
We can only have 2 RGV assignees at a time, right? If so, what happens if/when Bev and Asik both return to the rotation (and something needs to happen w/ Canaan)?
