Uh... WHOA. Not surprised that Mullin would want him there though.

Well...as unlikely as it that the Warriors make the playoffs, this move should certainly help their chances.

Mike Montgomery sucks as a NBA coach. Don Nelson is a good offensive coach but his teams always sucks on defense. I would say this is good move because Motgomery was an not a good NBA coach.

I would think this would be a good thing for players like JRich, BDiddy, Pietrus, Dunleavy, and any other player that can scoot.

Foyle has to have one of the 3 worst contracts in the entire league. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?? Now, he is going to be even more useless......if that's possible.

Richards had a very underrated season last year. it will be interesting to see if don nelson can get a little more out of G.S. as a team.

Bad news for Rox. Nelson might take that motley, but talented and, crew to respectability. Particularly if he can get BD to play to his talent and not his head casedness.

Okay, so where does Montgomery go back to college coaching? I guess we'll see him on ESPN for awhile..

how does this effect the rockets? if we're competeing with golden state for a playoff spot then a lot of things have gone terribly wrong and nelson coaching the warriors would be the least of our worries.

nelson is a fine coach but i don't think he's getting that team to the playoffs. i expect the rockets to have a significantly better record either way.

Not surprised by this at all. It would have been a total joke if Montgomery had remained for another year. I ragged on him a lot last year because he clearly is not up to the task of coaching NBA basketball. Hiring Nellie seems like a safe choice for Mullin because he blew it royally by hiring Montgomery in the first place

I really wish Rox hired Nellie. He is what we sorely lack...

I would have though DONNIE Nelson was prime for a head Coaching gig.

I thought after what he did with the Lithuanians in Olympics

I agree, but he isn't going anywhere any time soon. On the other hand, look at the team he puts together for the Mavs...

I doubt they will be a threat to the Rockets if the Rocks are healthy.

An unorthodox offensive-minded coach whose teams never play defense? Even Phoenix plays some semblance of defense. Don Nelson's teams NEVER play defense.
