Considering the refs poor performance in game 2 (and their officiating of Yao), it would be pretty cool for the fans in Houston to send the league a loud and clear message on how we feel about the officiating. A Don-a-ghy chant would definitely garner some much needed attention.
Yes, after Portland chanted "these refs suck", let's prove that Rockets fans can out-whine them any day of the week.
Wasn't it just a few days ago that we were laughing at Blazers fans for complaining about the refs? Now you guys are the ones doing it? It's funny how that works...
how many of you have been to a heated playoff game live in the stadium? yes, we were laughing at the portland fans. that's because we won the game. and if you're a blazers fan, you probably would chant in the rose garden too. that's what sports are all about. the op had a wonderful idea if you ask me.
The refs still rotate during the playoffs. It's going to be a different officiating crew. Doesn't make too much sense to taunt these refs for the poor officiating of Crawford and pals.
Unless you're San Antonio, Utah, or, apparently, Portland and you just boo EVERY call... it loses its value.
We have to appear classier than that. I don't think a mass-whining is going to earn this team any respect from the officials. To be honest, the officiating isn't the reason we lost the last game. Did it hurt us down the stretch? Yes, but that game was winnable but the Rockets came up short. Save the complaining about the officials for when they really screw us.
Exactly! How are you gonna gain the attention of ANYONE if you just boo every call? It never made any sense to me. Boo the calls that are clearly bad, and let the refs know that you're a knowledgeable fan base that recognizes bad officiating when they see it.
Why not just try matching the energy of the Portland crowd when they cheer their own team. Everyone knows the TC does not have a reputation as one of the more supportive crowds.
