GROSS is the word that comes to mind I ate one piece and gave the rest to my next door neighbors dogs.
I read a review from Ken Hoffman on this, and he highly recomended it. Bought one the other day. While not god-awful, it wasn't anything special at all. Newsflash! If you're going to sell a cheesesteak pizza, why don't you make sure you put some f-ing steak on the damned thing. Damn pizza was nothing but cheese and veggies. Stupid pizza people.
You can't get any more bang for your buck than CiCi's - that stuff is great for the price you pay and how much you get of it.
papa john's and domino's are my favorite but cici's should not be dogged. while ordering it for home is not a good idea (we tried it once), paying 4 bucks and eating until you explode can't be beat and the fresh pizza at the place is good enough. as soon as we saw the philly cheesesteak commercial, my roommate and i both thought it seemed like a horrible idea. maybe i was ruined on the idea after eating a philly cheesesteak hot pocket once. i got through about 4 bites before having to throw it away. although that may be b/c the cheese isn't mozzarella (i don't think) and that's the only cheese i can stand. and thank god i can stand it, otherwise i'd never get to eat pizza.
Cici's pizza is by far the nastiest pizza I have ever eaten. I like Pizza Hut the best. In LA there used to be this franchise called Numero Uno. They had the most mouth watering pizza anywhere (well at least for a chain)
Sure is, if your tastebuds are paralyzed. The best pizza in Houston can be found at Romano's, on West Gray at Bagby. A very close second is Manhattan Pizza located near Briar Forest and Dairy Ashford.
Place me on the pro-Cici's side. I used to eat at one every week back when I worked in Murfreesboro 6 years ago. It was always a bargain and the variety was good as well.
Someone in this forum once said the Jack in the Box Philly Cheesesteak sandwich was excellent. So, I tried one and damned if it wasn't the most disgusting philly cheesesteak I ever had. I could have shat a better cheesesteak than that. So, while the words sound tempting, trying one at Dominos is definitely not high on my food temptations list. In fact, it's rated just below chocolate-covered crickets.
Well, obviously you've never had high quality chocolate covered crickets... I liked the Philly Cheesesteak Pizza. The meat was a little dry, but overall it was great.... The only bad thing about living in the sticks is that all the pizza places here are chains. Dominoe's, Papa John's, and Pizza Hut are all good, but every time I eat Papa's Pizza in Galveston, I get jealous
Romano's is quite good. My grandparents, who are Japanese and therefore not big pizza eaters, love the place. Personally, the wife loves Pizza Hut, but the kids and I love Papa Johns. That crust and the sauce is perfect. The best upmarket chain pizza I can think of is the California Pizza Kitchen with those brick oven jobs. Yummy. Pizzaria Uno from Chi-town was good as well.
If you want a good cheesesteak and live on the North-side. Try Rocky's near Greenspoint mall. Best I've ever tasted. While living in Atlanta they had a chain called the Phily-Connection which really grew on me. A friend of mine told me they opened one here in Houston near the Dome but I've yet to go there.
Cheesesteak's a cheesesteak; pizza's pizza. N'er the twain should meet. Jake's Philly Steaks on Chimney Rock...best cheesesteak outside Philly.
They actually used to be decent imo. They would always have that "limited time only" spiel on it though. I hadn't had one in years, so when I heard it was coming back, decided to give it a try. Wasn't even remotely similar to the ones I used to have. I will never have one from there again, the meat sucked big time. Pizza hut is kinda similar to me. Was always greasy, but after they decided to change the way they made pizza, it became super saturated with grease. Disgusting. Tastes good(not better) but still disgusting. As far as the domino pizza stuff goes - ewww. Can't stand chicken on pizza either.
