So I got a domain last week and "parked" it with a certain company.
I got a Hosting plan today with a different company and need to transfer it to them.
    Their email said:

Please don’t forget to point your domain to our DNS
    Host Color DNS information:

    Primary DNS: ns1.hostcolor.com XX.XXX.XX.XX

    Secondary DNS: ns2.hostcolor.com XX.XXX.XX.XX

    My question would be, "HUH"?

What the hell do I do?

    Any help is much appreciated.:)

You are required to have two DNS servers to register a domain name. Typically, registrars will "park" your domain for you while you look for a provider using their DNS servers (and sometimes an "under construction" page.

All you need to do is find out what your hosting company's DNS servers are. Then you change the DNS server information with your domain registrar. Most of them enable you to do this over their webpage (although some allow you to change it via email or over the phone.)

Give it about three days for the change to propogate and voila...

    Hope this helps...

Also, you can host of your own machine, if you have a fast connection like DSL or Cable.

I host my website and use http://www.dynu.com dns client. It automatically updates their DNS servers with your IP, since your IP changes almost everytime you reboot.

It only cost 25$ a year and the changes take less than 30 minutes to propigate.
