    I don't get it......this has to be a spoof....

    http://www.thedogisland.com/

If they're so hip to make doggies happy, why don't they empty out some of the animal shelters around the country instead of trying to tell me what will make my dog happiest?

    From the FAQ......
    http://www.thedogisland.com/FAQ.html

aMy dog seems happiest lazy and warm, curled up by a fire. Will he really be happier at Dog Island?

Yes. Studies have shown that dogs with this lazy tendency also lack a luster for life which is revived by connecting to the great outdoors. Dog Island stands by it's beliefs in giving dogs a real chance to connect with nature and find their true life mate.

    Hmmmm....maybe its like a canine cult....Hari Rama....Hari Rover.....

    That's awesome.

You'd be surprised how far people go for their dogs. I drive to Austin once a month to take my dogs to the dog park there. Houston needs to get on the ball and get one approved already.

There is a "Pet Resort" near my house.

I'm not quite sure what service they provide, but I'm guessing it's a place to keep your pets when you leave town?

Anyways, everytime I pass the "resort" I can't get the image of a cheap hotel that charges by the hour where pets can get their swirve on out of my head.

Um...there is a dog park in Houston, coma.

Corner of Montrose and Allen Parkway.

    Lots of single non-cat-owning ladies......

Whoa, are you for real? Is it a true fenced in off leash dog park? I'm going to have to check it out.

    Thanks for the information!

Not fenced off & occasionally it's raided by city officials handing out parking & leash tickets. Not fenced, & w/ Allen Parkway and Montrose as 2 of the borders I have seen a few "accidents" happen unfortunately.

It would make a great dog park if it was fenced. The dogs even jump in Buffalo Bayou to cool off sometimes! Problem is there are 2 major streets as borders, no fence, bikers & joggers everywhere, etc.

Not to mention that since it's the only place people inside the loop take their dogs, there are often 200+ people & dogs there on weekends. Tread carefully or take a nice stick to scrape crap off of your shoes...

There are many single womenz there though...
