boy, do we have our share of fairweather fans. half of the seats are bought out by large corporations and mroe than half of those dont even show up. talk it up. i think the whole lower bowl should be rowdies.

It sucks but people pay for those seats, and the seats generate revenue for the owner, who pays the salaries of the players. If you really love the Rockets, then make some personal sacrifises and buy a seat /JK ;)

I think it's unfortunate the corporate "non-fans" have those seats, but they paid for them, and that's what they're entitled to. Now I have no problem allowing a couple of fans to move down during the course of the game (random selection or something), but also with the understanding the person that actually owns that seat that evening has the right to the seats with if/when they decide to show up for the game.

My roommate calls the entire lower bowl the "cocaine and boob job crowd" at AA Center in dallas. I'd rather have corporate schmucks than coke and boobjobs.

Well, the corporate folks could be rowdier... maybe Les can make a deal so that you can buy some corporate seats that come with escort girls (dress, I think, in sexy business suits) to help you entertain the clients. The escort girls then can get the corporate folks drunk and rowdy.

Pre-screen the escort girls for bball IQ, too, so they can help the clients understand things like Battier's greatness and Morey's statistical approach as GM.

Sure, it's supposed to be "family entertainmnet" but it didn't stop Les from having half naked Power Dancers.

Yeah it pretty much sucks. I have seats in the lower bowl in the corner and most nights the seats in between the baselines are half empty. Now a lot of people do hang out up in the bar area but it doesn't make for a good areana crowd.

Shoot last night there were a lot of Spurs fans there and I was joking with my buddy that they were louder then our own home crowd....

Even up stairs, ppl stare at you when you try to get into the game  I dont get why you would show up to sit there quietly and look at ppl like theyre idiots when all they want to do is generate some energy.

When the Rockets start winning consistently in the playoffs the crowds will be much better.

We haven't freakin gotten out of the first round in 10 years!

It is very very annoying to see this.

The positive spin is that we are at less risk of losing the team to another city thanks to this. Imagine if the Rockets went to another city! Houston already saw this once with the Oilers...

It's the samae way in most NBA arenas I've seen. Maybe one-team towns like Utah and San Antonio are a bit rowdier.

Please take into consideration that some of us who are sincere fans of the Rox go to games to support the team, be entertained and study the complexity of the plays and counter plays. This means that we only get physically excited by special plays and special acheivements. It is not in everyones make up to scream and be distracting. Its not everyones make up to be drunk and rowdy so as not to be focusing on the game at hand. Some of us are just conservative reserved people, enjoying sport. For myself watching on the big screen I like to high five everytime we make a three and clap every great shot. I do believe that there is place for the Red Rowdy Supporters and a most definte fuction for them. If I was younger and lived in Houston I would of course be there with them at the game.

Its sad how cities like Salt Lake City are more rowdier than Houston.

Actually, I don't have a huge problem with people who go to games and don't want to scream and go nuts. That's fine.

The biggest problem I have are those who get angry with fans who DO choose to yell and scream. What the hell do they expect? It's like going to a rock concert and complaining because the band is loud.

    Yetti makes a good point.

And yes, I think most NBA arenas are the same way, based on my limited experience..

i really dislike those type of fans! On our last dallas game, i had some rowdy dallas fans infront of me and an annoying lady behind me that cursed me out for standing up and clapping after a great tmac dunk! keep in mind that i only did it once and it was in support for the rockets.

people like that make the fan atmosphere suck. they are also the reason why the red rowdys were created, which really makes me proud of my supportive and controlled yelling and screaming for the rockets.
