they earned some rest after embarrassing the hawks. the cavs are in a dog fight with the celtics and that series could go all the way. the magic might be looking at an extended break. it's always nice to get some rest and ice some knees, i'm sure. the magic are playing so well right now, i doubt they can keep this rhythm if they get the rest of this week off. they might get more time off if the cavs celtics series goes to 7 games. my question is, does that help or hurt their chances in the conference finals? edit: please excuse the typo in the poll.
Look how they ran thru the hawks like a buzz saw. The rest will help... they dont have any discipline issues this year
the magic weren't faced with that choice. they have the time off, but is it a good or bad thing. some time off is nice, but they will have a minimum of 5 days. that's if the other series ends in 6 which it probably won't. 7 or 8 days off might be too much. usually the teams that are overly rested tend to be a step slow in game 1 of the next series, while the team who just played a couple of days ago are still sharp.
Im just saying.... Will a rested (rusty at the most) magic team(who breezed through the hawks)....be in a better situation than a celtic-cav team who had to grind out wins in a 7 game series.... Magic (too much rest) vs Cavs-Celtics (exhausted-bruised) Which would u rather have.....both have their arguments
It's tough to say. Magic rely a lot on 3 point shooting; they aren't a "bull in a china shop" team. Just because of this, they may lose their rhythm. But then again, they had like, 8 days off against the Hawks. And that rest didn't hurt the Magic at all.
the rest probably will hurt carter the most imo, he really needs to be in rhythm to be really effective and he usually goes into rhythm with playing. or else he will go 5-19 or something like that
I dont think the rest would hurt, look they sweep the bobcats and had 8 days against a team that went to game 7, with like 2 days of resting, flying, practice. and the first game they won by 43. They have more time for practice, and rest and prepare for the next rival.
obviously having too much time off is not good, but they did come out really sharp against the hawks, although the cavs/celtics is gonna be much better team. But the way i see it is not how it will affect the magic, but how a long series affects the cavs/celtics. celtics are up there in age. the cavs biggest problem will be big Z and shaq who are both up there in age as well. How are they gonna hold up after a seven game series against DH? So i reckon the it will be beneficial to the magics if cavs/celtics go to a 7 games.
It will heavily depends on who they are playing next. If they plays Boston, then it is helping them, because Celtics are old and long series is hurting them, plus it will be starting at Orlando. But if they play Cavs, it might hurt them, since the game starts at Cleavland, a long rest may caught them offguard
IMO, here is when who your coach is matters. I don't think it will hurt them because SVG is a tightass hardcore coach.
I don't think the rest really hurt them I just think Boston is better than people think right now. They started out the season 23-5 and then the injuries starting happening. They are healthy again and a tough matchup for Orlando.
Well, they'll get another four day break after Tuesday. WTF is up with the NBA scheduling? I'm as die-hard a fan as they come and even I'm getting bored of these series because of the idiotic off days. They should play all b2b at home with a day off when switching venues. Then there'd be some continuity and even teams that finish early wouldn't be waiting for two weeks.
I don't think rest is their problem, but rather Dwight not being a very good offensive player. The Celtics have exposed this and well it's pretty easy to defend one on one, therefore the Magic don't have as much space to get those threes off.
SVG will get fired. Not developing/substituting his players is backfiring now. Way to use anderson, bass, and gortat. Time off is a silly excuse to use, if is not that excuse its that they didnt practice enough. Stop making excuses and man the **** up.
