Phoenix wants a vet point guard and rumors have them interested in Paul now that Conley is off the board. The 11th pick would be more than fair compensation. Nobody wants Paul’s contract, so Phoenix may be the last hope as he would make them a playoff contender with Saric, Booker, Jackson, and Ayton. Any hope or are we stuck with the 125 million dollar contract?

Why wouldn’t they try and throw money at D-Lo instead?

also, the Suns are not going from 19 wins to playoff contender with the addition of aging CP0 who would have no interest in going there to babysit kids and teach them how to play...he will be miserable, and will probably let that be known

They're getting Russell for the max. And it will be a disaster. The Phoenix Suns... SMDH.

There were rumors in the past days about them going after Russell, i guess they'll throw a max to him but i don't think Marks will match, and rightfully so.

Meanwhile they just traded Warren, the 6th pick and the 32nd to take back another Warren (Saric) and the 11th pick so...the Suns are still the same old Suns.

Can't wait to see their amazing defense:

    Ayton
    Saric
Bridges (he's actually a solid defender but eh)
    Booker
    Russell

Agree that he would be misarable, but 125 million should help the depression. That lineup with Booker, Paul, Saric, and Ayton would be formidable. Looking like we are going to have to attach a 2020 first rd pick with Paul to get rid of him. Will be a deal like the Lin deal.

A team like PHX trading for CP3 makes zero sense. If Booker blooms into the star they hope he can be, the most precious thing they can have is cap space and short term vet contracts. This trade would be utter stupidity on their part.

CP3 to the Lakers... that’s the kind of trade that would make more sense. Non of these scenarios are likely though because the fact is CP3 is probably more valuable next year to the Rockets then he is nearly anywhere else.

Well, not that i disagree with you, but they literally just made two stupid trades, and they're probably about to make another stupid move by max D.Lo so...never underestimate the Suns.

that team would win like 35 games so I disagree that it would be formidable...money isn’t everything, CP wants to compete for titles, not play with a bunch of dudes who don’t know anything and have never played a meaningful game in their career...I see him pouting and being angry at all times

I don’t see why PHX would want him other than they’re dumb...he’s not making them a playoff team, he’s no longer a premier star that will have fans filling up the arena, and he’s 34 with an albatross contract

teams I feel would be most interested in CP0 are borderline-low end playoff teams with holes at PG that can’t attract good players in free agency like Orlando

They have the cap space we need to get free agents.

Correct....his contract limits the list of places we can send him without including picks and Gordon. Getting the 11th pick for an old pg would be an absolute steal and yes the Suns are dumb enough to do that deal.

Players like Booker and Ayton get frustrated and leave when they don't see improvement. By the time Booker is looking to get paid, CP# will be a huge asset with a $44 million expiring. I don't think that's the plan either, but a again, $44 MILLION. That change everything for a team fast.

This is such a dumb idea. With the Western Conference wide open after the injuries to Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant, the Rockets’ goal is to win the NBA championship next season. Trading Chris Paul for the 11th pick in the draft doesn’t help them in that regard.

The Rockets are currently $16 million over the salary cap. By trading Chris Paul for no incoming salary, the Rockets would have roughly $22.2 million in cap space to replace him. The max salary for Butler starts at $32.7M, and why would Butler want to join a Rockets’ team minus Paul? He has better options on the table.

Bottom line: It makes zero sense for the team to trade Paul for cap space at this point.

how does the 11th pick help us win a ring?

we're not trading cp3 unless we're blowing it up or we get a star in return

Yeah CP doesn’t want to coach kids he wants to coach guys who are reigning MVPs on all time tears!

    Also he wants to win.

Also he wants to compete for chips.

Also he wants 40 million a year.

Also, he wants less responsibility to produce so that he may age gracefully but also wants the ball so he gets credit for team success.

If only he could be in a place where like 95% of that ridiculous ass hostage scenario list of demands were being met?

With that much cap space, it’s easier to make room for Butler or other non-max players. There can be follow up trades to create even more space. Your logic makes zero sense.
