This is the first major task he undertook. I have the sense that he blew it... Not about the result, either keep or fire JVG is irrelevant. But the process how he handled this is very questionable.

This cast some shadown in my mind as to how competent he is as the GM. Can we trust him not to mess up this offseason? I am not so confident... :(

At first, yes. However, his interview on 790AM restored my confidence in him because he was realistic about where the team was and I believe what he said about what Van Gundy wanted in terms of extra time/coaching search etc.

I don't hold Morey in any way responsible for JVG's firing. The whole thing is 100% Les' decision and doing. That said, I never had much confidence in Morey to start with. From my standpoint, he hasn't done anything to engender confidence. What happens this summer and by the trade deadline will determine everything.

Serious. I thought he handled it great and was just what JVG deserved. Gave him some of his own medicine that JVG likes to use on his players. He's already a great GM in my mind with the way the JVG situation went down.

    Love this quote the best.

Van Gundy said he turned down a consultant position with the team because the offer was contingent on calling his departure as Rockets coach a mutual decision.

``Daryl pulled that off the table the moment I wouldn't agree to saying it wasn't a mutual agreement,'' Van Gundy said. ``I disagreed with that and I told them that. I appreciate the offer very much. I was a little disappointed by the heavy handedness of the conclusion.''

Awww...poor little JVG. He can dish it out to guys like bonzi and vspan and make them take his crap, but then cries like the victim when someone does it to him. :p

I don't think he ever claimed their benching was mutual!

Yeah, I don't see JVG binging on donuts or whining to the bald press, so who knows, maybe this is a different situation.

Anyone who blames Morey is a Moran. This was Les' call.

You know what I mean. JVG expects players to take his crap and shut up and sit there quietly. When the shoe is now on the other foot, he doesn't like it. JVG got his just desserts. It's called Karma.

It is called hypocritical, he laughed at V-Span for venting in the media, then he goes and does the same thing.

    Why am I not surprised.

Difference is, Gundy said it with poise and grace AND he's not even on the team anymore...so he technically doesn't have to if he doesn't want to.

I mean, hate his style and hate his coaching, but why you guys hate on his person is beyond me.

One man's poise and grace are another man's grumpiness and sourpuss.

When you're gone, you stay gone, or you be gone. You lost all your Rockets privileges. Get your ass out here, Van Dummy.
