Johann Rauber, from Muenchenbuchsee, called the police when he found the as yet unidentified corpse lying on his couch. He said: "Whenever you go away for a couple of weeks, you always return home expecting to find that something has gone off, but it's usually a lump of cheese or slice of bread, not a dead body." A spokesman for the Berne police said the dead man had passed away a few days earlier but it was not clear how or why he entered Rauber's flat.
