This is a serious question and I want to see what you fellow clutch fans think about this. This is not to bash Ron in any way, I just want to see what you guys think. Does he live and die by the 3?

I think he lives and dies by shot selection... whether 3's or not.

I love Artest but he loves to throw the ball up from the three pt line, the worst part about this is that he misses key passes to open players because he is too busy jacking three bombs. When they go in, its awesome, but he sure loves to take a lot of them.

Agree with you, and this is what really worries me especially in the playoffs.

    This.

Ron taking open 3s is completely fine with me. It's his other shots that I'm extremely concerned about.

I thought his shot selection would be a little better than it has been. I thought he would be more active and aggressive in the post, in Sac-town or Indiana. Still, I do remember games he'd have like last night where he was chuckin' away.

It's not Ron. It's been a Rockets way of life dating back for a LONG ASS time.

The Rockets love the three point shot. I know people make fun of his shot selection, but the only difference between McGrady and Ron is the fact that McGrady tends to make more of his shots. Plus, Ron's jumper is about as pretty as Chuck Hayes' free throw. With an ugly shot, and a lot of misses, it's easy to make him out to be the villian but really, this team loves the three when their legs go out. Look at the San Antonio game. When Yao was fronted, the Rockets tended to push the ball out more than in. When they pushed the ball in they took over. The Rockets need to learn how to have an inside presence without Yao. I miss Landry.

I voted yes, but I want to clarify. Ron too frequently lives and dies by the 3. He reminds me of Antoine Walker. I cringe when he hits a 3, because it's like a voice inside his head tells him "Ron Ron, your shot is gorgeous, keep shooting it." Then the next half quarter features Ron parked at the 3 point line waiting to jack it up.

Ron will play aggressively and attack the basket, and the Rockets are a lot better when he does that. I wish the 3 point shot was a part of his game, but that he didn't rely on it so much at times.

yup. he lives or dies with what's in his head, and our team often either benefits or suffers from the consequences.

I don't see how he can't take Brewer and the like to the woodshed. If he plays the two or three he outweighs everybody at that position, sans Lebron James, by at least 20-25 lbs. He's fell in love with his not too reliable jump shot. Yes he can get them off when he feels like it, but if he's not on (like last night) he has to find another way to be effective.

Ron needs to post up or just drive in instead of jackin up horrible fade away 3's! He did well in the Spurs game attacking the basket then last night he went back to jacking the ball up which is frustrating to watch especially with the shot clock about to expire you know he is gonna dribble for 5 sec then jack it up it never fails....

Rick Adelman needs to put a stop to this

I think he just loses his mind in the heat of battle and doesn't pass.

He wants to be the 'man' I think and that causes some bad judgment... but it's nice when his shot is falling, I think he needs to keep himself in check and not try to do so much.

He probably doesn't see himself as a great shooter, but he definately wants the responsibility to take that shot.

If he's not asking for a max contract, I definitely want him back. Sure he's lost a few games almost single-handedly, but I can't imagine where we'd be without him. He has won more games than he's lost, that is for damn sure.

5 for 22 last night. The guy gets a rebound, brings the ball up himself and jacks up a shot.

If hes not hitting his shot forget it, cause hes not gonna pass. And Adelman is too scared or whatever to sit him down.
